2010 Ford Platinum V8 5.4
I got in my truck today and it was dead. Bought a new battery because I thought it needed it, but that is not the issue. It will not crank, turn over, or jump. Does anybody have any experience with this?

Does everything else work? Like radio, lights, etc?
Do you hear any noises when you turn the key to start?
I'd check all the connections to the starter to make sure one isn't broken or rusted so it isn't making any connections. May not hurt to pull them off and clean everything. Could also be the starter itself.

Exactly what blue 2010 has posted..............starter solenoid should @ least click....if it don't that usually is a sure sign after the battery check that it is poor connections starting with the battery posts then the starter itself........You could try to hammer on the side of the starter. Sometimes if it is worn inside hammering will jar it & it will start. No garantees if it starts & if it will a 2nd time because it definetly needs @ this point a new one!! Good Luck!!

That is why we suggested to 1st check battery connections (cleaning) Then check & clean all connections @ the starter....that smaller wire on the solinoid is power when you turn the key to the start position......you can test that it is getting power with a test lite & a helper turning the key....the big wire should have power all the time!!
If the trigger wire has power & solenoid dose not click then usually it is not working!! Of course if it clicks & the starter doesn't try to start the trk then starter itself is not working.....Replace .....

There's a relay on the fuse panel for engine management that can corrode. Not sure on these trucks if it's still on the passenger side, but I'd also check that to see if there's any corrosion on it.
Something easy to check rather than throwing parts at it.

Should still get clicking if it was fuel related. Although relocating fuse 27 would be a good idea, regardless.
