different states have different comprehensive coverage laws.. in Florida, if you have full coverage, your comp deductible will be $0... i sell these with logo in the $550-600 range... i do have non logo windshields in stock as well for fleet vehicles or those where comp won't cover it...

keep in mind that beyond the type of glass, you also have the type of urethane and experience the tech has.. no sense in using an expensive part if the other two aren't equally high.. Safelite is not an American company, and in my 15 years in the business, they will lie, cheat, and steal to get work.. guys, support your local companies and keep your money in the same state.. don't be steered by your insurance company to use who they want.. who pays your insurance premium?

have the service manager look at it, and have the warrenty person take pictures to submit. doesnt hurt to try.

Called the dealer for a price and I was told
Ball park $600+tax Canadian Dollar.
Parts said $430+tax +install.
Called Speedy Auto Glass and was told
$650+tax.
Wow a HUGE difference from my mini-van
$240 installed!
Why is the F150 so much more? Just because of the F150 badge?? So not worth it.
Any Ideas on if I should go to the dealership or another place? It seems it's going to be close to the same price as the Dealer anyway so why not Factory install right?
If you lived in South Carolina I could put a windshield in your truck for $270.00 and that would be with the F150 logo.

"Some good, some not", 200 unresolved complaits through the BBB is not a "some" issue.

The safelite I contacted said they did not have carlite and tried to steer me towards their "just like carlite" glass, said no thanks and did more research and now have a stock windshield installed better than it came from the factory.

I have had safelite do work on my Jeep replacing a windshield, they did a crappy job and got adheasive on my dash and the rubber surround was left sticking up from the frame. There was glass dust all over and trash left everywhere inside my Jeep. I called and complained and they said the install windshields not clean cars!

Even if they had the carlite product, if you dont have a competent tech installing and taking pride in his/her work then it means a terrible end product!

Mine cracked from a rock about two months after I bought it but it stayed below the wipers and doesnt affect anything, so its still cracked and I have no intention of fixing it.

fwiw, i have a 2009 SCAB and the windshield started cracking at the top and the bottom at the same time after a few thousand miles. The cracks eventually met in the middle of the windshied...and...you guessed it, right in the line of sight. I took it to the dealer but they said it was an impact and therefore not covered. So now, i am waiting to replace it when i get it inspected. Looks like i'll have to shell out 100's to get it fixed.

I live in the Great State of Michigan, had 4 windshield replacements and have never paid a dime.

One of the very few benefits of 'No-Fault'.
