2011 Navigation Update FAIL
#12
The drama continues, the dealer replaced the Audio Control Module and used another new set of discs to update it. It crashed in exactly the same spot... Last I heard the Tech Hotline was stumped and looking for another solution.
So, if you have a 2011, I would recommend that you do NOT try to update the Nav system with the 2016 update release. That is 2 modules and 4 sets of disks so far that have been tried, with no success.

Service advisor called me at close of business tonight, says that they have it fixed. The technician worked on it all day, and worked with the Tech Hotline throughout it. I will talk to the technician tomorrow after work, when I pick up the truck to see what was the cause of the problem.

Turns out the system had to have the base software version reloaded to it, then the update was ran, which crashed again. They then reloaded the base version again, and did a hard reset of the system somehow, followed by the update using yet another set of discs which finally took. They had over 12 hours labor into it trying to get it. Thankfully all of the costs were covered by CPO warranty, no out of pocket costs for me.
