Default 2011 Lariat w/MH1 Projector Retrofit

Hey all,

After finishing my FX-R retrofit on my F150 Platinum, I completed an MH1 retrofit for my buddies 2011 F150 Lariat, White Platinum Metallic Tri-Coat/Pale Adobe. He is very happy with how they turned out...as with I.

MH1 Projectors
Morimoto 3Five Ballasts
Morimoto 3Five 35w 6000K Bulbs
TRS Apollo Shrouds with custom aluminum shroud extentions
TRS wiring harness
TRS Butyl Sealant

The shroud colour is very close to the Pale Adobe....I didn't want a perfect match, I just wanted to play off of the Adobe colour so there is not an overwhelming amount of chrome behind the lenses. In person, it looks absolutely incredible....

That looks amazing! When you say "custom aluminum shroud extensions," what exactly did you use to extend the shrouds?

Aluminum Roof flashing....it's custom cut to follow the contours of the headlight bucket behind the shroud.

I can't comment on performance yet, they were just installed today on his truck. With regards to ease of installation in the headlight bucket, the MH1 is hands down, much more easier to mount....that being said, still not an easy job.

Looks good!

There are so many mixed reports on the difficulty of splitting open the stock headlights. Can you comment on the technique you used and the difficulty?

Oven method? temp/time? Any heat gun action? What pry tool?

Thanxs.

I've opened up three pairs of late model F150 headlights now using the oven....let me tell you this...it sucks - BIG TIME - I thought it would get easier with each set, and it has, to a degree, but not enough to enjoy...lol

When you have the headlights apart will you do custom mods for your customers... IE paint inside of the assembly, tint reflector or anything else?

You betcha....That way, your headlights become exclusive to your truck. Nobody else on the face of this planet has my headlights...unless they have copied them since I posted pics!!!!
