OK, I was under the impression that the cooling was done via a compressor, but the heating, in both seat applications, Lariat and FX4, was done by electric heating elements?
I didn't know that the heating system in the Lariat is a different type than that in the FX4.
I learn something new each day here.

I always thought that they were leather both front and back on the Lariat?
Two new things I have learned here today.

If you hunt mud go for the fx4 but if you are a city boy that only goes off road one or two tomes then get a lariat. You a paying for the name on both trucks really. We have a lariat an we hunt and off road and the cooled seats are worth the money

Also you can't get the factory sprayin bed liner on a lariat, only on the FX4!! I know you can go after market for that, but when I had my last truck done the fool stripped some bolts in the bed!!

Fx4 also has really good looking smoked head/tail lights.

FWIW I didn't take too much stock in the cooled seats when I got my Lariat. I chose the Lariat for other reasons primarily (wanted tan leather, two tone exterior, liked the grill way better, etc). Quite honestly I didnt think I'd use them too much. But I fell in love with those cooled seats quickly! There's nothing better when you've been outside playing basketball or hanging out at the beach or whatever and get in your truck and turn on the AC seats. And anytime your driving for awhile and get swamp butt from the hot leather, this eliminates that altogether. And to the poster that said it's noisy. It's noticeable when you have it on the highest setting but if you turn on your radio you don't even hear it and the other two settings aren't really noticeable period. Also, I don't know if Lariat heated seats are warmed different then FX4s but mine warm up seriously quick. If you live up north where it's only hot for like 2-3 months, maybe the cooled sears wouldn't be a big deal to you. But living in the south, it's a godsend
