2011 FX4 running board touch up paint?
I have a 2011 FX4 tuxedo black with factory gray wheels/grill and running board. Does anyone know if there is gray touch up paint available to match the running board?

My 2012 Running boards have sizable rust bubbles. Appears I'll have to wire brush them, use some rust reformer to bond the little rust remaining and use a satin black to restore them.

I have the Sterling Silver / anthracite factory running boards. I took a chunk of paint off by accident a few months back.
I ordered some spray touch up from Automotive Touch Up;

Sanded the area, wiped down with denatured alcohol, sprayed and blended. Best match of any touch up paint I have ever used. I have also used some touch up from Automotive Touch Up on a friends car about a year ago, another perfect match.

I've got the same ones — bought the ford touch-up paint. Super expensive [relatively, for what it is] and it looks terrible – not even close on matching.

Also, I haven't even looked close yet, but can the plastic be separated from the shell?

I had my running boards sprayed with LineX, when the bed was sprayed. No need for touch up paint, they covered the chrome and the plastic parts, no chips or dings, and I haven't slipped off a wet or snowy board since then. Yep, more expensive than touch up paint, but it worked for me!
