BLAST FROM THE PAST

I don't think he is, just overly cautious. I actually just got in weathertech mats and was going to replace my factory mats and I pulled on the drivers side and it wouldn't budge. I didn't want to rip the mounts out of the carpet so I left it alone. Thought maybe there was a trick to it so I researched and found this thread.

So the OP isn't the only person who was concerned. I feel ya OP.

Even if you do pull the retainer out it snaps back in place. I do it all the time when I am removing my mats when I am detailing my truck. Not a big deal.

I think he is asking how to remove the posts altogether. not how to remove the floor mat from the posts.

Mine are so fking tight i damn near pull the carpet out each tim i remove them. I cant imagine too many more removals before the tabs rip out of the carpet. And its a 2013!

I hate to reply on an old thread, but no troll I logged on to find out how to remove them. The fastener reminds me of the studs with the center that you push in, or pull up to release, so after trying that with no joy, I looked it up on here. After I see how it is just a plastic snap it's very simple, but I didn't want to break anything on my new truck.

Very disappointed the dealer installed them without vacuuming the carpet first, just put the mat over the dirty carpet smh

Yeah, that is a poor showing on the dealers behalf. Mine did the same damn thing but I guess if you want something done right....
