Default 2011 Factory one way remote start to two way remote start?

Hi all,

has anyone successfully upgraded from the OEM 1 way remote start to the bidirectional 2 way remote start? if so, what parts did you need and what was the procedure?

This is all you need, https://www.levittownfordparts.com/f...al-p-2282.html

Directions for install are on that page as well. It's plug-n-play since you already have r/s.

Thank you so much, I ordered it. Exactly what I was looking for. I saw the instructions but they dont sound like plug and play. Is there another source for upgrading if you already had R/S and are only adding 2 way?

Disregard the first few pages of the instructions, that is just generic wiring splices and how to do them properly, they include that with all electrical components similar, you won't have to splice anything you simply plug it into the obd2 port under the dash and then go thru the vss programming as described.

Got it. No dealer trip required?

The Two way is what I ended up with, took me about 15-20 minutes to install and program. All of it was plug an play.

All I needed was:
DL3Z-19A361-A Vehicle Security System - Ford Perimeter Plus
DL3Z-15603-C Vehicle Security System - Upgradeable, Bi-Directional Remote Start Antenna Kit
DL3Z-15K601-A Remote Start System - Key Fobs, Bi-Directional, Programmable for VSS

NOTE: the DA8Z-15603-A is already in the truck if you have OEM remote start and is not needed.

I don't think that first link includes the VSS module, 19A361 listed above, so it is not quite all you need. I haven't looked at prices recently, but it was over $200 to do this upgrade last year. Part of why I chose the remote access cellular system instead at about $300.

Good catch, I didn't read that far down in the part description, it is required but must be purchased separately. I also went the cellular access by adding the RMU.

I couldn't find a package with Levittown that included it, which is weird. I'll bet calling them would be worthwhile, they seem to help people well.
