Default 2011 f150 weird brake pop

My dad called and asked me about this. He said the brakes pop when he applies them while going in reverse but not forward. I'm not exactly sure if he's feeling it in the pedal itself or just hearing it. He said if feels like a slack adjuster on the old drum style brakes. He recently had new tires put on and it started a day or two afterwards. any thoughts? Was just trying to figure it out before a trip to the dealer.

2011 5.0 XLT 4X4

Thanks!

Could it be a loose lug or lugs? They will noises similar when not tightened properly, and pressure from the brakes could cause them to pop. This is just a wild guess. Good luck.

That's about all I could come up with too. I haven't talked to him today get so I don't know what he's checked yet.

This also happens to 2011 F150, usually in the morning or if the brakes are cold/damp. The dealer said they couldn't find anything wrong. I suspect I'm hearing and feeling the pop only in my head if the dealer said everything is OK.

Loose fitting brake pads or caliper.

Any update on your dad's truck, bamablueoval? If the DIY approach doesn't work out, you can always get his truck in to the dealership. Let me know if I can be of any assistance; I'm always just a few clicks of the mouse away.

Well I talked to him yesterday and he said it has stopped. It did it for 3 or 4 days. If it comes back I'll update the thread with what we find.

Thanks!
