If you are unfortunate enough to go through this, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THEM REPLACE THE SKID PLATE (noise suppressor) that covers the pump. Ours was so soaked with transmission fluid that it weighed about 3 times more than it was supposed to. It was so heavy that the bottom part came disconnected and we had a huge puddle of tranny fluid in our garage.

Look at the sticker on your drivers door. At the bottom there is a string of numbers like:
That is the year-month-day of build. So for that one the DOB is April 12, 2011.
Code:

Mine was 6/21/2011, so while I am just a couple of weeks outside those dates I am going to keep an eye on mine anyway.... I hope it doesn't happen to mine, I love driving my truck and would hate to see it sitting in a shop!

Boost :)
Has anyone or even Ford confirmed that it is 100% only that date range or have others had this same issue as well? I'm interested to see if anyone in that date range does not have problems just as much as I am in seeing those that are not in that range WITH problems.
Mine was built on 06/24/11 so I'm a bit past that range, but I'd be interested to hear from or see those that are outside of the dates with this problem.

The questionable part seems to be the transmission pump itself, as that is the primary part replaced.
The leak will be from the bellhousing. Transmission fluid collecting/dripping off the bottom edge.
The early warning is the leak itself, presumably small before it lets go completely. But you will not see the leak unless you get up under the big absorbent transmission noise shield that will catch any minor drips.

Mine is going in Monday for the first service and have them inspect the tranny for the leak (i know its leaking some already) so they can get the parts ordered and i can keep driving it until the parts come in or it blows its load.......
The Service writer told me on the phone they have done 2-3 TSB repairs so far on this so....hopefully its no big deal.
