2011 F150 send texts thru sync?

Cant understand why Ford would allow to receive texts while driving but we cant send texts? If we are able to use the phone while driving we should be able to send a text, right? Anyone figure this one out yet?

I hope not. That is as bad as drunk driving. Blue tooth is fine but texting with your hands is a bad idea.

If you have a smart phone, most have speech to text function. Wonderful and useful feature that I use all the time when driving. Totally safe keeps your eyes on the road at all times.

Cool, but my HTC thunderbolt won't do it with sync.

He meant sending texts over bluetooth, not actually typing them out.

It is a phone dependant feature. I have a Samsung infuse and it will not work ( says phone is not supported ). I tried it with my wife's blackberry and it worked. I didn't play with it too much, but I believe there are prewritten quick texts stored in sync. Cool feature, I just wished it worked with my phone.

I was under the impression that you could only read texts received via sync when the truck was in park (or under like 3mph). So it isn't like you can use the feature when whipping down the highway at 70mph. Is there some other way to access this feature that I'm missing?

Thats what I use now, but you still have to look down to get to the person you are texting, click the mic button, speak the text, and still push send.

Once a text comes through it comes up on the screen as Voice Active, push Ok, that will then show who the text is from, push ok again and the "biotch" will speak the text to you. I just wish we could reply by speaking back to it and telling it to send. And that comes through at ANY speed...
