Default 2011 f150 lariat

Hey guys not sure if this question has been discussed in here. But everytime im coming to a complete stop i get like a clunk sound and when i release the break it does it again... Took to the dealership and the tech said it might need a transmission update?? But would cost me 288 plus tax or they can just check if something is wrong with the drive shaft like the u-joints or etc... And i would just pay my deductible if they dont find anything with it... I have a 2011 f150 lariat.... Let me know guus thank

You need the splines on your driveshaft lubed, very common problem on these trucks. Mine is only bad if the temps are below 60 degrees and is non existent all summer long

Do you think the tech guys would notice if they need lube?

Whats a TSB? And what do you mean by covered? By what... What did you tell them? Or how did they know it was that?

Technical Service Bulletin. Basically a way for a tech to look up known problems and how to deal with them.

If your out of warranty TSB's aren't much help. Recalls are the only way to get stuff covered for free.

Yes. It's a known issue and an easy fix. I had the same problem at about 50-60K miles.

We all knew just from your description. It's the first thing the technician will check. If they lube it and the clunk goes away, you're done.
