2011 F150 FX4 - Finally took it home today
Just picked up my new F150 FX4 from the dealer today......finally!!
(** Updated 8/28 - I just added some new pictures of the truck on the page 2 - post 19, that are in addition to the one pic directly below):
(** Updated 8/30 - New truck got broken into and in an accident all in the same day - not my day! See post 23 on page 3 for more details):
Ordered my F150 right before the forth of July weekend and after three separate delays it arrived at the dealer on August 20th. There it sat for almost another week waiting for the dealer to install the lift, wheels, tires etc. Details:
Loaded FX4 with nearly all the options (Factory Nav was not available):
Ecoboost
6.5" bed
4:10 gears
Rancho 4" lift (yes it works with the 6.5' bed)
Rancho 9000XL gas adjustable shocks
18x9 Fuel Hostage Wheels (5" offset)
Nitto Terra Grappler AT tires 325/65R18's
Undercover-S Tonnaue
Line-x bed liner
Garmin nuvi 3790MLT Nav with voice recognition.
Dealer tried to reprogram the computer to tell the truck it had 3.73 gears instead of the 4.10's to compensate for the 35" tires. However, they couldn't get the Eco to read the gear change codes so they are calling Ford next week to help figure it out (has anyone else gone through this with and Eco?).

The whole reason I bought the add-ons from this dealer is that they said they will honor any warranty issues. This particular dealer has also been installing lifts on Ford for years and they have one tech that pretty much does lifts full time. The dealer beat most of the prices I could find for the lift, tires and wheels, but then then after their labor rate I was about $400 on the plus side. But considering they do so many lifts and work with their customers, it seemed like a safer way to go.

I actually bought the paint for those wheel wells after seeing the truck at the dealer last week. Can't believe Ford thinks that looks OK - awful isn't it. If I have time, I'll probably be painting tomorrow.
My only other complaints so far are the large towing mirrors that did not have an option for electric fold. And I'm disappointed that the headlights are not automatic versus manually having to turn them on (even my 14 year old F250 LD had auto headlights).

Do you mind mentioning the name of the dealer? I want to have my new Lariat raised using Bilstein 5100 Adjustable Leveling Shocks, and would prefer a dealer with experience and warranty.
On another note, the automatic light setting is the last one on the far right on the dial - the one with a light bulb with an "A" inside it.
