Idk about the universal stuff, but I prefer to stick with OEM style.

Idk about sales at other auto parts stores, this price seems high to me. I bought the prestone dexcool when i flushed my system.

Do not put Dexcool in your truck. That's the dumbest thing I have seen. Ford Gold coolant is what was in it and the only thing I would put back in it.

I belive the truck had orange, not Gold. Now I'm getting confused. I replaced coolant in both my truck and my wife's Fusion. One took Gold and the other Orange. Was pretty sure the truck was Orange

*Ford Motorcraft Orange Specialty Coolant* is what was in it (5.0 V8 engines) and what should be used.

Didn't say to put GM coolant into it, dexcool equivalent. There's been a million threads that have discussed this already. All the dexcool issues were a decade ago, and have since been resolved. I suppose you don't buy firestone tires .

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firest...re_controversy

If your manual states the coolant can be WSS-M97B44-D2. Then you can use dexcool equivalent, its perfectly fine. If not, please link me to pics or threads where it has proven to be an issue.

Probably my biggest push for dexcool equiv is that its easier to find an auto parts store with that stuff on the shelf, over the Ford stuff being only at dealers. If/when I need to add to capacity, I'd rather not mix stuff.

If it's orange, it's dexcool. Just get orange coolant and it will be fine. Mix 50/50 with distilled water or buy the pre-mixed.
