Just got a 2011 F150 last week from a relative who had bought it brand new, never had an issue with it and got it inspected and told everything was in good order before selling it to me. It was running great and I had never driven it very far but then all of the sudden today I could not get it to start properly. It would power up but engine would not turn over, and then it miraculously started after about an hour that included a few more failed attempts. Later in the day the exact same thing happened again.


Would appreciate any insight into what may have caused this before I take truck to the shop.

Check the battery connections. Are they clean and tight?

 

Check battery connections. Check fuses. Check starter for tight connections. You can also tap it with a hammer and then try and start.

Check fuse #27 for the fuel pump. Common issue for those to melt...
