I can't believe anyone is getting this kind of life out of these engines without a catch can installed. HAHAHAHA

BTW, I have one installed but only for my own piece of mind.

Glad to see these posts guys, makes me feel good about owning the EcoBoost!

Why would anyone think turbos could cause shorter engine life?

Because they assume Ford just slaps a turbo on a engine like an aftermarket mod a shade tree weekend warrior would. They don't take into account Ford pays very good teams of engineers that know a few things about...well, mechanical engineering unlike most consumers.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'll take my chance that an engineered factory turbo engine will last, over someone who has watched a few YouTube videos or read a bunch of posts by people on internet forums complaining about how a company didn't get it right...

Funny......just today , I drop by a buddy of mines garage....he's quite a bit older(and wiser?....he builds dragsters) Anyways....I drop by the shop and I see (I should of taken a photo...I'll go back and do it!)
I ask, "Where's your Dodge Diesel?"...cause here's this 2014 Honda Ridgeline hooked up to his pontoon boat and trailer?!-WTF?
This is the guy who's told me over and over...."I wouldn't trust a turbo on a.gasoline engine...let alone two"....."Ya know back in the day...a friend of mines friend....of ...? some famous drag guy (I forget!)...wanted to build turbo powered V8's.....and they blew up!"
Ooooo, ok......what's up with Ridgeline towing that 3k+ trailer?
First off.... (wags all over the road...but pulls it he says) Well it was time for something new...he's says.
Then I tell him about out with the Titan in with the Boost!.....O Christ....here we go again...."Back in the day"......FINALLY .....yeah they've come along way.....THANK YOU!

So he is essentially using a minivan with a bed to tow. Um ok, if it's 3 k lbs I guess. But it's the same as my odyssey minivan with very few differences.

I am curious how the ecodiesel is going to tow and how long it is going to last. I am not a Chrysler person and a diesel on a light duty doesn't make sense, but everyone should wait and see. This could be up there with the success of aluminum. I just think they are pricing themselves out of the market.
