2011 bumper grill
QUESTION!!! Where can i get a grill for the bumper for my 2011 ecoboost? Ford told me i shouldnt put one on it but i cant help but think rocks or other things might get in there and ding it up. Do they make ones big enough to let a good air intake to keep the turbos cooled down? Also, i have the chrome package and was wondering what would look the best, chrome or black? Dont know how to post pictures, any input? I will post a pic of mine when i know how.
I had the same issue, just don't want rocks flying into that BIG opening.
SOLUTION - bought some expanded steel and cut to size (I think 8" x 20") with a sabre saw with metal blade. Used wire brush on drill to shine up. Painted glossy black. Attached with two 3/8" x 1-1/2" bolts (use fender washers on backside).
Viola - LOOKS GREAT (according to folks who've seen it) and total cost was ~ $15 (got some left-over expanded steel too).
look in my profile for picture.

Depending upon how well the field trial goes this winter, I may (?) have an offering next spring for something that I've dreamed-up and had made ...

Dealer almost talked me in to buying a grill he had on hand. I asked about warranty issues with it and he and service manager said they would not void any warranty with the grill. I don't recall the manufacturer but he had it because it was a close match to the lariat chrome grill look. It even had a hole to stick the block heater cord thru it. We studied it a bit but were unsure how to install the grill. I told him to sell it to someone and install it, learn on that vehicle and then I would buy one from him.
i bought mine on ebay from a guy in florida. gen x brand. what a pos. looks like larry , mo and curly joe designed it. there have to be better ones out there than this. i'll be replacing it as soon.

That's the one tomofva has in the pic above. I've got the same Gen X one and it's fine. There are a couple of gens of this grille. Maybe you got the 1st gen??
I was trying to get one with a little bit bigger holes for maximum airflow. Like the black though. I can't figure out if I want black or chrome, I do have the chrome package on my truck.
