Default ACM being programmed today!!

Well I have replaced the main wiring harness for the new updated one with the camera wiring connection, new light wiring harness to rear lights and trailer connections, added factory camera harness and camera. Truck is sitting at the dealership waiting on tech to get started. If all goes well I should have a working backup camera on my nav screen by the end of the day... Hopefully, after all this work

Okay so I had the dealer reprogram the ACM with as built data so the camera would work on the nav screen and this is what I ended up with... Any ideas on how to fix this?

It should be possible provided that the mirror mounts the same way and the emblem on your 2006 is the same size as the 2011 non camera emblem. I'm not 100% positive but I believe the emblems are the same and that the mirror mount has been the same since 2004. You will have to run you own wires from the tailgate to the mirror like I did because the camera was not available in 2006 so you won't be able to use OEM harnesses. You will also have to drill holes in your tailgate for the wires and screws required to mount the camera and you will need to drill a hole in back of the bed for the wires to pass out of the tailgate and into the under side of the bed. If you decide to go for it I can provide you a list of the parts I used and where I got the cable I used to run the video feed to the mirror. You should be able to find that info if you search for my other posts or I'll be happy to post it again but it will be a few days as I'm headed home in a few minutes from Dallas, TX to NC and don't have my list with me. One more thing you need the correct plug for a 2011 mirror. So either see if you can get it with the mirror or from a junk yard. If not you can buy the headliner harness for a 2011 and cut the plug off that harness and wire it to your OEM harness and your custom camera harness.

Another option would be the tail gate handle camera if you don't want to carve and drill your current gate.

If you need any help or resources, PM me

I was think of doing the tailgate handle, I also wanted to use the factory navi screen. I was told it could not be done. So thats y I'm
Thinking of doing the mirror. The guy from my local radio shop told me when i put it in reverse the screen should wanna show the reverse picture. He said even if u don't have a camera the screen should turn black when u have in reverse.

Now if I put the truck in reverse how would I make the mirror in gauge the reverse camera? I have a 2006 f150 lariat.

You guys should check out brandmotion.com they do installations of Ford oval and tailgate handle backup camera installations. Codes, parts, and everything should help out a little.
