HINT/TIP: Before turning-off the vehicle, switch-off A/C (which will leave the vent on) and set the blower to 5 (or in the case of EATC, set the temp' to 60).

Let it run for a few minutes before turning-off the vehicle to air-out the system.

I usually just switch to vent ¼mile of so before my destination.

Also ... Turn-off the climate control BEFORE turning-off the vehicle.

And Etal ... There is no cabin filter. UNLESS you count the filter/canister underneath the front seats if you have heated/cooled seating.

I've stopped using my A/C for that reason. Can't stand the smell. Doubt the dealer could do anything though.

i think this just blew my mind! i've never owned a vehicle without a cabin filter.

i've heard the chevy's don't have them either.

Well I've found in the last few days just tuning off the recirculate and letting the system run has stopped the smell completely.

i have found that cranking the heat to high with the ac selected off and letting the unit run for a couple minutes kills the mold and smell. i ususally do that on the last drive of the day when it smells. put the windows down and deal with the heat. actually feels good when you get out since the outside air is cooler than the truck was

I've been avoiding the recirculate function because of the smell too. Does the A/C actually work better (colder) in that mode? Is this the button that replaced the "Max A/C" on my old F150?
