BIG NEWS UPDATE!

Dealer just called me to update me about my truck, they have had it now for 13 days for the shudder and about 6 other issues.

Regarding the shudder at 55 mph Ford has just released a new transmission mount for this problem. Service mgr. said it just came out and they have one on order and should be in tomorrow.

They have been shimming my drive shaft both front and rear (for a different issue) and once that is completed they will install the mount, road test and call me back.

Additionally I believe they did the new PCM update, 12-02-10 as well, so im pretty excited to see the results and drive my truck again.

This 2008 Focus loaner sucks.

Interesting...I think I am having my dealer pick mine up tomorrow. It isn't real convenient to be without my truck(work use) and a funeral came up I have to attend Friday, but I think I am just going to bite the bullet and have them take it. I have several other issues I want them to look at as well. Thanks for the info, I will have to mention that to the sales rep when he comes to pick it up.

If you get a chance to look at the actual TSB, see if it is for 157" wheelbase only?

Will do. I grilled the service mgr. pretty hard, but he was clueless other than stating Ford is recommending this for the 55 MPH shudder/vibration. He made no mention of a separate TSB, but I would imagine it has one.

Once I get the call to pick up my truck I plan on chatting with the tech. and I will try and get as much info. as possible to share.

Default Trans Mount

Bucketman
Is this new trans mount for the shudder we feel at 50-60mph or is this something different?

Took mine in to a different dealer today. Picked it up and the paperwork says they verified the surging(?) at 45 mph. Then applied TSB reprogram.

The shudder is still there and the truck drives the same but the mileage is slightly worse... I kept it right at 70 mph and got 14.1 on the trip home...

The idle is still rough, but at speed the engine sounds much different, kind of like a wheezing sound.
