I was noticing that on the sticky thread with the vehicle information, the majority are 4x4's and only a couple of 4x2's?

I have a 2011 built 5-15-2011, 4x2 and so far I have about 6k miles and no shudder or trans pump issues. I live in flat Gulf Coast (Houston) and no hills, but recently was towing a portable knuckle boom and did not feel anything while accelerating up the on ramp at about 50mph.
However, I always noticed that the engine mis-fired on a cold start for about 1 min until the idle slowed down and then ran fine. My mileage has always been between 17.1 to 17.6 using mid-grade since new. Not a hot rodder, so not impressed with the mpg. This truck is only getting about 1.4 to 1.6 mpg better than my 6.0 Trailblazer SS! And my TBSS was heavier.

Mine was already in the dealer for rattles, Sync re-flashed and driver door switch replacement amongst some other minor items to be fixed and when I heard that they were keeping it overnight, I mentioned the mis-fire cold start idle concern and my advisor stated that they had a TSB to fix that. I pick it up in the morning and hope all is fixed.
I've seen this topic, but figured no issue with mine and never read it until now. Again, I see the majority on this issue are 4x4. Interesting. Good luck to all as I agree, our new trucks should perform flawlessly for years to come as long as we take care of them.

I was in the low 20.x on the 40 miles or so home tonight, all highway. 55f this afternoon.

For example if the problem is the Torque Converter locking/unlocking, that would cause confusion in the turbos as they loaded/unload in sync with the change in load from the driveline. The guys with 5.0's could have the same TC problem but they can only feel the issue and not hear it much since they don't have the turbos or wastegates magnifying things.
I really think some of the "shuddering" isues that Ford and dealers are lumping into the moisture issue are when a truck severely shudders and goes into limp mode when accelerated hard. That issue makes more sense to me regarding moisture causing serious misfires.
I'm still stcuk on this theory after seeing the mixed reviews of the new TSB. It sure sounds like the 3.5 experienced symptoms created from the real problem, and this TSB tries to correct the symptoms rather than fix the problem. A reflash is sure a lot cheaper than re-engineering or replacing the tranny or TC. Is ford hoping to reduce the problem to "acceptable" levels until they come out with the total redisigned truck in a couple years? I hope not.

Got mine back yesterday.( 2012 fx2 eco boost 3.55) shifts like a dream, never did have the shutter problem though. Before the tsb I would be driving on cruise control on a flat service on the interstate and Franny would drop to a lower gear for no reason then drop one more gear. Example dropping from 6th to 5th to 4th in a matter of 10 seconds on a flat surface. Tsb fixed that as well as the hard shifting and improved MPG. Before Tsb I was averaging 17mpg at 70mph now I'm averaging 20+

Thats why i'm skeptical my gas milage will stay where its at after the flash. Its almost like the computer is changing to make the truck run to rich after a certain amount of time? Unfortunately I think we are getting the run around.
