I've been looking for info online and I found this thread. I have a 2011 F150 Ecoboost. I've owned it for 7 1/2 months and it's been back at the dealership many times for missing/misfires and total loss of power. First it was the boost control solenoid, then eventually they did the tsb for the intercooler. There were misfire codes several times. It still studders and stumbles and this morning it lost all power again forcing us to drift to the side of the highway. The engine light didn't come on or flash at all. I called the dealership and the service adviser said to take it to a local auto parts store to see if there's a code present. I did, and there are 3 codes p0300, p0302, p0303. All misfires. The dealership said that if the cel didn't come on there's nothing to worry about and told me to change the spark plugs?? My truck all but gave up driving normally up a hill and there's nothing to worry about? The engine light did come on 18 hours later and it's sputtering and shifting really bad. I asked about the plugs after couple incidents and they said they would be fine. I don't know what to do with it. The dealership we bought it at and have been taking it to doesn't seem to want to see it back or know what is wrong with it. Can I take it to a different dealership? Would it help?

Thanks for following up, Nolestaylor. I want to escalate this to your regional customer service manager (CSM) so they can help. To make that happen, PM me your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership. I'll get this into the hands of your CSM.

You're welcome to get a second opinion at a different Ford Dealership, ecomama; some folks have had success going that route. I'd like to see what I can do to assist from my neck of the woods as well. What's your truck's mileage?

Current mileage is 68xxx. I first had it to the dealer for missing/rough running (no engine light on) while it was under 60k. And it's just been back and forth to them since. They have been unprofessional and haven't stopped the missing or given any explanation of what is causing it. What they HAVE done is cut the power down on the truck considerably (last update did that). The truck is NOT safe. I should be able to pull onto a highway and get to highway speed without fear of the truck shutting down.

Any update on the 5.0 misfire issue? So far the dealer has changes plugs, claimed they checked the gap, 02 sensors (didn't think it would help), and new cats. Still getting the misfire under moderate acceleration and really bad on inclines.

What's your truck's model year and mileage, gby0311? I'll see what I can do to help.

crystal, 2011 xlt 5.0, 75,000 miles. I'm on an extended 100,000 limited powetrain warrenty through ford. I don't think its an issue with the pt, but its causing the the torque converter to constantly lock/unlock and a grinding of the drive shaft

I'd recommend having your dealership inspect, gby0311. Touch base with us once you've had your visit and I'll be able to look into options to assist.
