Wouldn't that be unburnt fuel? Running rich?...( Seriously doubt it's residue.)

Default Had enough!!!

My truck died on me last night when passing a transport truck in the rain storm. Dropped my truck off at the dealer this morning gave them the keys and pulled the plates. Told them to call ford. Waiting to hear.

I wish you luck. We have been trying to get my wife's truck fixed since November. still fighting... I wish I could afford to trade this thing off but I have already taken the hit on one of these for a superduty that actually runs, not doing it twice.

This thread is starting to actually be funny to me. I'm not trying to minimise any of our problems or anything but, the more I read and the more folks show up here with this same problem, it just makes me giggle. More and more folks buy these things just find out after the fact that they've been had.
I thought I was just stupid to buy a first year product and think I wouldn't see any teething problems. But now after three years of production they are still pieces of chit and folks are still lined up to buy 'em. So, now I just sit here and giggle thinking Ford is putting out this junk and we all keep eating it up with a spoon. It's amazing that when you see problems and deal with them for so long that at some point they just become normal. Ford wins and when the dealers tell us "it's just normal for this truck" we now accept it! It just cracks me up. I'm strting to read this thread just for entertainment purposes.

benelli, your right, it seems in America today, everything we buy is crap and is NOT built to last or even hold up to normal operating conditions. I bought a 2013 because i thought that FORd would have worked out the bugs into the 3rd production year, i was wrong. With only 3500 miles my truck sputters/misfire in 6th gear under load, the truck vibrates at 55mph and idles rough. All may be simple to fix/repiar but for a $55k truck i am disappointed. I should have just stayed with the stupid V8 SD. May not get the fuel mileage or ride but it is a simple truck.

I've been kind of browsing through this thread. The thread title says 5.0 shuddering, etc. Has this turned out to be mostly a problem on the ecoboost (last few pages of the thread, all I see is EB), or does the 5.0 have issues also?

One thing that has become apparent is there is a slight shudder across the entire F150 lineup. This has mostly been accepted as the transmission/torque converter and programming.

The Ecoboost suffers from a heavy shuddering that is caused by cylinders misfiring. There are many different components that have been blamed for the cylinders misfiring, but Ford's fixes thus far have been directed at the Intercooler. They have also been replacing driver's side catalytic converters if the truck throws a P0430 code. Some people have regapped their plugs and say it has resolved their issues, but others say they saw no improvement.

Hope this helps.

Well dammit, was hoping my 5.0 was completely safe. lol The transmission was my only reservation in buying the F150, as I had heard they had some issues. Was hoping they'd got the 6 speed straightened out by 2013. No issues yet, but less than 3k miles, so we will see. Traded for this one because the 08 gmc I had paid off was having misfire issues that dealer couldn't or wouldn't resolve. Can't afford to trade again, so this truck needs to be problem free.

Good luck to those having problems.
