That's because what Ford is doing does not consist of a "repair". It's a bandaid to mask the real issue.

I'm sticking with it being the torque converter going in and out of lock. That would explain the lugging/shuddering, loss of boost. Their "flash" de-tuned the engine so it's forced to downshift to remain in the powerband. Run it slightly rich with less boost causes you to get more on the skinny pedal making it downshift.

Took mine in Friday for the new intercooler and reprogram, ran great on the way home friday, seemed a little less power, but its been so long since the thing has ran right that I thought maybe it was just my imagination, well on saturday I mashed the peddle going up a hill, it loss power and the check engine light is back on. So it went back to the dealer this AM and I am waiting again to hear what the "fix" will be

Hope they find something and this isn't an ongoing problem.
You're confusing two totally different problems here. The misfire in 6th under slight load has nothing to do with weather or humidity. That happens all the time, rain or shine and most of us on here have that problem. Even folks who don't think they have the problem really do. My brother-in-law told me his truck ran just fine. Then I showed him what it really was doing. He had no idea and was just fat, dumb and happy. He's not so much now! And it is an ongoing problem that to date hasn't had any reliable fix!
Anyhow, the weather related miss/fall on it's face thing is totally different and has to do with a condensation build up in the CAC. Go back and read this thread and you'll see we're talking about two very different things here.

Dropped my truck off at the dealer again this morning. Unfortunately work stuff came up over the weekend and I was unable to put in the new plugs I purchased to see if it helped with the misfire.

Had a tech come along for a ride along and of course, my truck barely acted up. It did miss a little but not the whole truck jerking type of miss that I can usually get it to do.

I also told him about how the thing feels like a turd now and he looked me square in the face and said I'm gonna be honest with you, they took some of the power away in the fix. Not sure how a tech can assess Fords programming to come to that conclusion, but echos what some others on here have said they were told. I told him its really weird though cause right after the fix, it ran like it had all sorts of power again. Then slowly dropped off.

The whole reason I bought the truck was for its towing capability...I test drove it for 3 days towing various trailers around town before I bought it. The truck as it sits now does not tow anywhere close to the way it did 1.5 years ago. If it towed like it does today during the test drive, I wouldn't have bought this truck. I've been patient a long time about these issues but I've been driving a brand new truck for 1.5 years and was able to enjoy it running nice for 2 months before the issues started.

So I guess we'll see what the dealer says when they dig into it. I don't have high hopes as my truck has never thrown a CEL and it barely acted up on the ride along, so I just look like a problem customer complaining about the littlest things, which I certainly am not.

I'm tempted to throw a programmer in...but with all my issues kinda scared to ***potentially*** get denied warranty work over the next 24,000 miles with all the issues I've had.

Ya I feel the same. My truck doesn't have the power it had before the TSB. Feels like the Silverado I had as a rental while they did the TSB. The torque app showed consistent numbers for HP and 0-60 before the TSB. I guess I'll try a couple runs and see what I get.

I just don't understand how for 3 days after the update it ran fantastic. The throttle response, power, etc were all back, thats why I posted on here that I thought Ford detuned the trucks in the prior TSB's. I had a huge smile on my face, I was so happy. Then it slowly fell off. I'm getting more agitated. I believe this is the 7th or 8th trip to the dealer, 4th time for the misfire issue.

And I don't overly care about fuel economy, but I believe the new CAC/ECU update dropped this a little. Got 19.4 mpg driving 45 miles to the dealer this morning driving 60 mph or less and going through a few towns...the 5.0 I took on the same route less than 2 weeks ago got 21.4. And usually I can get 21-23 mpg driving there in my truck...I have a good feel for the mpg going there I've done it 7 times.

Getting dangerously close to ordering a tune...but I'd like the misfire to be gone at least as I don't want to bring it in again after its tuned and still have issues.

Told them I need my truck back by Friday morning, going ice fishing so should hear something soon.

I wonder if its just a reflash or if they're changing plugs etc?
