I'm no expert... but I think it will take some time before you start having the issues again (unless this really "solves" the problem). Most people didn't experience the problem for the first few months or first few thousand miles or more, even with the old CAC... it takes time for the condensate to build up to problematic levels is my guess otherwise people would be bringing the truck back the day after they bought it. I hope this really is the fix, otherwise we're all screwed and ford has no idea how to fix it.
Anyone know if other ecoboost platforms have had similar issues...ie the Edge or Taurus or is this just an f150 thing.

It takes time for your KAM to relearn. Once that happens all the quirky shudders and misfire feelings come back.

I think this engine failure is exclusive to the F150, arent we lucky!. They got engine fires issues on the 1.6/2.0 ecoboosts, I am convinced they knew of this water buildup issue but as most corporate america, throw it out there and we will put a patch on them until we do find a fix. There already working on second generation ecoboost so that tells u there working out the bugs on the next ecoboost, for the rest it is gonna be a wait and be patient until we can find a real solution but instead there just replacing the bad/wore parts with new ones that will fail again.

Improving engines over time is not new or unexpected though. Most engines see slight changes every couple years to keep advancing. This Ecoboost, in it's third year, has already had several changes to it. Go pop the hood of a 2011 and a 2013 and compare. The 5.0 has had quite a few engine failures, and supposedly Ford as made slight changes to that engine too. I think as soon as Ram and GM announce their final numbers for their new tucks, we'll see "official" new versions of the 3.5 and 5.0. At the least, we'll see improved numbers. Normal growing pains.

But thats American auto makers, this is what opened the door for Honda,Toyota,Nissan to dominate the car industry since the 70's. If we are all saying support American workers/companies then the big 3 need to put a quality proven product on the table, with such a hyped engine thru infomercials,and commercials there should be no way this ecoboost should have these kinds of failures with the most integral part of the engine (IC). Sorry, the fix as you go program is not gaining any fans for the ones that have had serious power loss and almost cost an accident in the making. Thats what testing and R/D is for. With one of there infomercials showing there engine frozen and heated up countless times you cannot tell me there was no condensation issue that caused there engine to shudder/shake. Either way each person will feel differently about this so I am just one opinion thats all.

Default prejudice to the generality

I'm not defending Ford as much as wondering why people keep saying that Toyota (or any other foreign brand) is better? All brands have issues, perhaps Ford should study Toyota's PR program, from what I see lately Ford has better quality/ethics than Toyota;

8:33p.m. EST February 14, 2013 / LOS ANGELES -- Toyota will pay $29 million and is vowing to make vehicle information more accessible under an agreement it is announcing today with attorneys general in 29 states about the way it conducted its recalls.

January 31, 2013 Drivers of more than one million cars manufactured by the Toyota Motor Co. could be operating vehicles with either flawed air bags or defective windshield wiper systems.
The company said in a statement Jan. 30 that roughly 752,000 Corolla and Corolla Matrix owners and about 270,000 Lexus IS owners may require special service, depending on the year the car was made.

etc, etc, etc...

You are absolutely correct! This is a systemic problem and Ford is covering it up. As I reported on this board before, I had several close calls, due to power failure, that I decided to sell the truck after 6 months to "upgrade" to a 6.2 with the hydraulic steering (I had the EPAS issue also), which cost me 10 grands for the not even 10,000 miles on the EB.

What??? You took a $10k loss just to get rid of Ecoboost and went back to another Ford. If I were to get a 6.2 i will be opting for a SD w/6.2 or over to another brand. Sorry to hear you had so many issues that couldnt be fixed that u would be willing to take that kind of loss on a truck so early into the purchase. Hope your happy with the 6.2!

Yes, not becuase i think its a better set up, its just if i were gonna get rid of this F150 I would go back to a SD and get the 6.2, I miss the room and ride height of my SD. Plus if i am gonna get crappy gas mileage i my does well just do it in the SD.
