Had my the CAC (TSB) replaced this week and said they reflashed the computer. So far my MPG went from 16.2 to 18.4. Haven't really got on it yet to see how it reacts. I did mention to the tech that is has very weak throttle response and my chrome tailpipe is full of soot and that is not normal. We'll see how it's running in a few days. Throttle response is still weak.

I thought soot in the tailpipe was normal?

It is normal for DI engines. My truck has it, and our SHO has it.

I'm new here and the only reason I found this website was because of the miss and shudder issue with my 2011 EB F150.

Needless to say I was blown away by how many others have the same issue.

I have 55,500 miles on my truck and I am thankful I have an extended warranty because I can't imagine how much a new intercooler and all new catalytic converters would be.

I am on a list at the dealer, they say I'm 10th in line and should be able to fix my truck in mid march.

I guess I will go read all the posts now. But I do have to say that there appears to be a real breakdown on Ford's part.

The 'fall on it's face and shake' issue comes from the intercooler. Many have found they have a light shudder at steady speeds, and have resolved that by checking their plug gaps. Look for that thread too.

It just seems to me like it's alot more soot than normal but I've never owned a turbo before.

Its a product of direct fuel injection, not turbocharging.

Default back ordered intercoolers

The Dealer called me in for a fix TSB which was suppose to be a reflash and a new style intercooler.
They flashed but put me on back order for the cooler. The new flash dropped my fuel economy immediatly by 2 liters per hundred.
My new inter-cooler is on back order since October, and they cannot go backwards with the software. So now I still shudder and get bad gas mileage.
Has anyone had the new intercooler installed?
What was the out come?
I am starting to think Ford has back orderd as a smoke screen, because they know it is not a cure.

Just got word that my intercooler arrived today. It will be going in tomorrow to be replaced and I will be changing the plugs that I have gapped to 32. I will let you all know if I see any improvements.
