No you would have gotten way less. Think of a diesel. You get a lot more for a diesel than a gas.

Good for you man. That wasn't my experience when I tried. I'm glad it worked out for you like that. It's not like that around here

If he got that much on a trade you can bet they nailed him on the new one. Trades are a shell game and they don't buy used cars for the same price they sell them for.

I'm sure you and I have traded enough to know the game very well... What you are shown on a buyers order as purchase price or trade allowance isn't as important as the difference in the two...

Had the shutter problem on my 2012 ecoboost. Dealer is going to replace intercooler, turbo intake tubes, and reprogram. Is this the right answer?

Maybe. It works for some folks but not for all. If it still does it, replace the spark plugs and set the gap at the minimum.

As for trade-in values, it depends on the region. Around here, where it is dry as a bone, the opinion of the eco is pretty good. You still get the overall POS ford opinion though.

Thank goodness, cuz I'd be a bit worried if my son had a room temperature I.Q. Vehicles being recalled and fixed is a totally different situation than vehicles not being recalled and can't be fixed! See if you can follow along here. Recalled and fixed=no problem with trade in or selling. NOT being recalled and fixed=big problem with trade in and selling. Class dismissed! Let's keep focused here, and show a little thought before posting some pettifogging crap.

Right... Not that it matters but listed below is the financial status of Toyota. This is publicly available info....

Revenue ¥1.583 trillion (2012)[1]
Operating income ¥355.62 billion (2012)[1]
Profit ¥283.55 billion (2012)[1]
Total assets ¥30.650 trillion (2012)[1]
Total equity ¥10.550 trillion (2012)[1]

They may someday decide to GET out of the business but with this kind of cash, they won't be GOING out of business

MSRP on 2013 49375
Sell price including 2000 rebate 41211
trade 36300
dealer fee +100
+tax and tag
Anyway 5011 plus tax and tag. 2013 stickered for 3265 more than the 2011.

Still seems like a good trade value for a 2 year old truck with 19000 miles. BTY that trade figure is Black book amount.
And they had the trade listed for 40995. Was gone within a week. Dont know what they sold it for.
While I may not have traded enough to know the game very well it still seems that the Ecoboost trade held its value very well which was the original point.
