what symptoms do you have now? not meaning to probe you too much, but i have a 5.0 as well. it seems that most who are having the issues are the 3.5's.
i'm interested to hear what you're experiencing. is it a vibration at 55?

Here we go!!
Im taking my Screw in this Tues for the new TSB. They are already telling me it is only for trucks with a MIL. Too bad our trucks never store codes... Good news is they told me that because i have the extended warranty i get a free rental while my truck is in the shop!! I had no idea. They said I get a Focus.... uumm ya right! I dont fit in the damn things and they dont carry many tools!! so i get an F150. I imagine it will be a 5.0.. im interested to see if it feels different..

I took mine in today. All they did was reflash the truck per the new TSB. Service manager said my truck already had the "deflector" and no codes to warrant a new catalytic converter. I'm stumped on the deflector as I was under the impression this was something entirely new but SM said later trucks already have it and Ford is retrofitting earlier trucks with the "deflector". So now I'm wondering what this so-called "deflector" looks like? I do have a billet grille installed in the inter-cooler opening and looked at the front of my inter-cooler tonight. There is a horizontal piece of plastic across the bottom of the inter-cooler but in looking at it I'm not sure of it's function. I don't see what air it would "deflect" or how ... oh well, time will tell. FWIW my truck didn't have any codes set.

It feels like the engine is 'misfiring'. It ranges from being intermittent to constant and sometimes it doesn't do it all. When it does act up, it only seems to happen in 5th or 6th gear at low rpms. Feels like a loss in power also. I don't feel it the steering wheel or pedals. It seems like the whole truck slightly shakes like I'm traveling over uneven pavement. Symptoms are more exaggerated when I tow something.
