[QUOTE=Bigfoot02;3384174]The fix - cover where water enters - and he agreed this does kill power. QUOTE]
Not sure what you're saying here? Water only enters through the intake and vapor from the PCV, and if ya cover those, you will in fact "lose power" to the point that the engine wouldn't even start!

I am supposed to drop off my truck tonight to get TSB 13-08-10 done. Reading the posts here has me worried that it will introduce new problems such as loss of power, etc.
But, as this is a forum, we might only hear from people who had an issue and never hear from those who are happy. So...
Can anyone confirm they had the TSB done and have no problems whatsoever with power delivery?

Always remember that after a dealer reset of the computer the truck has to go thru the transmission "learning" cycle to get shifting back to normal.
Even after that the updates do have different shift patterns, not worse, just different. They are trying to take some of the shifting lag out by not letting it jump up into such high gears during slow driving and reducing early torque converter lock up among other things.
Mine have always taken about 1 tank of fuel of driving before settling down to it's final shifting patterns.

Happy to report that TSB 13-8-10 seems to have fixed the problem completely!
I've driven it about 100 miles now and all is smooth and quiet. Haven't noticed any issues so far, hopefully it stays that way.

I don't have any words for this... I feel fortunate I was able to get my truck bought back for this problem. I did not have a condensation problem, my environment wasn't one that would produce enough condensation. My truck lost all power and would not maintain speed or accelerate, I would have to pull over and restart to clear the problem. This would happen during normal driving and mild acceleration. I could not duplicate this problem at will and what made it dangerous is it would happen with no warning and randomly. Also, months would go by with it no happening.
Ford claims this is not a problem with a large number of trucks. That may be, however, for the number it is affecting, it should be fixed, replaced or repurchased because if it only happens to a few it's a lemon and shouldn't be on the road endangering the public.

"Tests by Ford and the government traced the problem to condensation in an air cooler. Water could be pulled into the engine, causing cylinders to misfire.
But the tests showed that trucks with the condition would maintain speed and accelerate."
That is a short quote from the linked article and while the first part is correct, the second part stating that the trucks would indeed maintain speed and accelerate is complete . As anyone that has had the issue knows.
My 2011 was fixed with all the updates and my 2013 has been problem free.

Does anybody have a copy of TSB 13-8-10? I would think my dealership would call me on the telephone and tell me there is a new potential fix, but they haven't.

So...not sure what ours does is what this thread is about, it doesn't happen at 55-60 mph. Our '11 had no issues at all, ever. Always ran like a top, thought at times on start up it sounded like it was misfiring. But it never bogged out or died...probably should've kept it...but I didn't. I traded for a 2013, same exact truck as the '11, but got the 3.55's ('11 had 3.73's - which makes me wonder if it's a gear related thing due to lugging at lower speeds, yet the trans on the '13 shifts sooo much better than the '11, doesn't go into 3rd or lockup and get "luggy" near as soon...but I digress...). So, what's happening with ours is it just dies. No warning, no shuddering, no misfires. Just pfft. Dead. It just idles, and the throttle is like someone disconnected the cable (if it had a cable). Turn it off and restart and all's good again - it's as though Microsoft was in charge of the computer (isn't Sync from MS? Hmmm...) - it just dies, and you reboot, and good to go. Ford ME? Maybe? (like Windows "Massive Error", only on my truck) Not sure I want to get a TSB done if it changes shift points, that's the one thing I like about this one over the '11. Would hate to lose that, but then again it sucks having your truck just die in the middle of the road for no apparent reason
To note: it was raining yesterday, and the truck had been out for 5 or so hours idling around town as my kid was doing a fund raiser/bottle drive. When he left town to bring the bottles away, he was accelerating normal and it just went away. No warning, no nothing. Just went into idle mode and coasted. Good thing we don't live in a highly populated city, could be dangerous - or if we lived in the mtns. I'd like to tow the camper to the mtns again...but I think I'd be a little concerned this time around.
Last time it happened to my wife, and it was dry outside (not raining), but there were puddles from the melting snow. She went through one fairly deep one and it bogged out on her (water in the intake?) and then a few days later did the total cutout.
Maybe I should get a '14 with the last of the 6.2's...tried the 5.0 with my trailer, and found it seriously lacking compared to the E/B. Would hate to have to downgrade the power to a V8...(can you supercharge the 5.0 and still tow with it? Wouldn't over stress it? Might be an option.)
