You should probably wait until the new 8 speed trans is released. At least with that one they won't be jamming 6 gears in to a 4 gear box.

I waited 2.5 years for a fix. I don't think one is coming.

Should I look into the f150s without ecoboost? Some owners on here I've seen have had good results with the livernois mycal tune maps on their ecoboost.

mine has done the shudder twice. once before the CAC fix cruising in heavy rain for a long while and then again a few weeks ago after 2 hours of cruising in the rain. this time is with the new CAC, same tune and AFE intake same result. only 2 times in 15,000 miles is not a huge issue for me.

I wouldn't hold my breath! I don't think they are even looking for one at this point. I believe they are probably trying to get it out of new vehicles every year and when and if they do, it won't be retroactive to prior year vehicles.

That's disappointing. I love the look of the truck over others. May just buy an older 2010 without the ecoboost

I had my CAC replaced in Feb of this year. All was fine after that until a few weeks ago. HEAVY rain, interstate merge into traffic. It stumbled a little, but it wasn't a bad as before. I was at least able to maintain speed, but no acceleration.

I've towed my 7000+lbs Travel Trailer in the rain with no issues. I'm still happy with my truck at this point.

I have a 2013 Eco with about 15000 miles currently. It was fine at first, but through the last 10000 miles, very slowly, it developed a shudder at speeds between 50-75 mph.
This seems to be more rpm dependent, so mostly in 6th gear, but sometimes in 5th too.

It's not as bad as some of the stories I'm reading here, BUT it's getting worse. Right now, it's just an uneasy/uneven ride, feels rough but I still have power.
The shudder can be felt through the seat backrest clearly.

Is that enough to have my dealership perform the CAC replacement? I hate the "we couldn't replicate" situations.

That doesn't sound like the condensation issue. It is unmistakeable and you'd be pulling over to turn the truck off and restarting it to reset everything. The cac change probably wouldn't change what you're feeling. I'd bet that is a plug issue?

I'd bet it isn't a plug issue. My truck did the same thing. I regapped and replaced the plugs. Had the CAC changed as well. Only thing that would resolve it was a reflash which was only a bandaid for 3-4k miles. That went on for as long as I owned the truck.

Prepare for a lot of "could not replicate" and "operating normal" crap from the dealer since they don't know how / don't want to fix it either.
