My garage just below the tailpipe of my Ecoboost is littered with soot. My GMC with direct injection Duramax stayed there from 2003 until 2012 and never left soot on the floor. Both direct injection.

I will say that I have yet to "blow it out" so maybe sometime soon I will do that. In the diesel, I always got a big puff of black smoke when I did. Wonder what the Ecoboost will do?

Are you really comparing a diesel to a gas engine?

How do you get Ford's attention with your dissatisfaction.

I am waiting for a fix to the loss of power deal. And it almost got my wife, daughter, mom, and dad, as well as me this evening. I was merging onto I12 this evening when it chose to start missing, I was stuck between two semis and no shoulder to get over.

All I heard was an OMG from the back seat. This is ridiculous!!!

After my 3rd shudder/power loss last week and the CEL still lit, I took mine to the dealer and they said they ordered a new CAC but it won't be in until April. They said my CEL will be on until they swap the CAC out. I smell BS. Oh and my remote start won't work now--possibly related to the CEL being on?!

For me anyway, the new CAC and flash works just fine with NO problems or concerns afterwards. It runs smooth, mileage is just as good as it was before, and my best guess is that it has the same amount of power. This is a 2011 EB that has had all of the updates done to it that pertain this thread although I have not had any hardware replaced other than the CAC.
I have a 5* SCT for it and after the last CAC and flash it ran like crap with the tune in. I called Mike and he sent me updated tunes to match the new strategy and now everything is good even with the tuner in it. I'm happy with the truck again and I haven't done anything with the plugs yet but that is going to happen next week even though it doesn't seem to need it now.

I had my CAC replaced beginning of the month and re flashed. So far so good here. We've had foggy, rainy, warm and cold days since. No issues yet. (Fingers crossed)
