Default CAC replacement

I went in Monday to get the new CAC on my 2011 EB. I went back to see what the new one looked like compared to the old one. I couldn't see any obvious difference on the outside of the new one. My old one was leaned up against a box with the outlet on the bottom with a puddle of muddy water under it and the neck was full of the same substance. It was foggy as hell that morning here. Driving home with the new CAC and new flash I didn't have any of the little hiccups lugging over hills like normal, I updated the SCT and re-installed the 5 star 87 performance/tow tune and now everything is about back to normal with the little hiccups while lugging over the hills. I haven't done anything with the plugs yet but I guess that will be the next step.

LRPV, the plugs are good to look at but you just said it ran fine on the way home and you reinstalled your tune and it started back up. So is there any reason you dont think its the tune causing your issue?

Why would you not verify that the new cac and update are working......instead of flashing with your sct?
What could be the reasoning behind the hicxups while using sct and 5 star tunes..unless it is a differnt issue not associated with the cac..

I got used to the power of the tuner. I can take it back out and see if what happens but I ran it for about 10 days stock before I took it in to get the new CAC and it did the exact same thing with and without the tune. I have done all of the TSB's related to this truck and everytime I take it in, it runs, drives, everything just great until it "learns" how it wants to drive. I'll take the tune off and see if it makes any difference, I should have just waited in the first place but I'm a little impatient.

Understandle.....wanting the tune and all.
Is the issue building boost and not downshifting to the proper gear. As i know my teuck will get alittle surge here and there depending on how far i push the go pedal

Still waiting on my CAC...going on 4 weeks. Used to only misfire going up hill at 55 mph...now its up hills, mild acceleration, and if you floor it the missfire jerks the whole truck.

Starting to wonder about harassing Ford for extended warranty...I've driven this truck with these issues for 33,000 miles. I'm getting a little nervous about other damage it could be doing...and with my luck it would happen at 62,000 miles. I've been very patient waiting for a fix and getting all TSB's performed. My sales guy stopped by last week cause we bought a van...he feels terrible. I've been holding off calling customer care and asking for the extended warranty cause my dealer is great and don't want to get them in trouble. Anybody know if the dealer gets reprimanded for a call to customer care? I think its time for a phone call next week.

I have 92,000 km (about 55,000 miles) on my 2011 F150 ecoboost. I like the truck except for the turbo problems. Since new, it has sputtered under load. Ford replaced the entire right turbo a few months ago and recently replaced the intercooler. All the updates have been completed. With each update the truck has less power and worse fuel economy as they try to tune away the design flaws. The dealers have no idea what to do, so my truck spends many days at the dealer as the technician tries random fixes suggested by Ford. None of the "fixes" has helped. The sputter is dangerous and the engine is likely being damaged by all the water (condensation) going through it. The warranty is almost done, so I'm forced to trade it for another brand.
Please fix my truck, Ford.

You explain this as though it is my truck. Same symptoms. Same mileage. Same concerns about long term damage. But with what I am reading, none, or I should say almost none of these TSBs really fix anything. I am probably not going have any of these done, as my mileage is not bad, and I am still at lifetime 18.2 MPG. I still experience good acceleration with no power loss. And at 31,000 miles.
I don't know if a dealer gets reprimanded, but I doubt it. My dealer has actually told me to call Ford and gave me the phone number. Of course, this was on another issue I was having with axle wrap, springs and spacers.
I have owned Ford vehicles almost entirely, and this truck has been by far the most trouble (although I do like it very well). It's been in for warranty work at least half a dozen times. My wife has a 2009 Flex with 65,000 miles that has had only one warranty issue. All my other Fords were for the most part, trouble free.
The only answer I have is...Ford does not have an answer.

Good Luck.

Well, add me to the list of people waiting for a new CAC. I will say my truck was better with the last update, but still not what I would call perfect. Took it in yesterday for the little rubber gromets on the front door check arms dry rotting and breaking. They have to order those in as well. Told them I was still getting shudders and pretty much without question looked my truck over and said they wanted to apply 12-10-19 and ordered the new CAC. Shocking this time as I didn't even have to guide them to this latest TSB. Feels to me like Ford is just telling the service departments to just apply this fix if there's any inkling of a complaint of hesitation or shuddering. So I wait...

What I would like to know is that it seems that all the 2011,2012, and some 2013's are all going in for this TSB and CAC and whatever else they do to (so called) correct this shudder/hesitation/misfire/limp mode, etc, etc. issue. This is a classic recall situation yet Ford doesnt announce the recall, A Recall would indicate that they have a corrective fix to the massive problems that plague a vehicle. Yet no recall, it seems as Ford is saying try this fix to appease any one having the issue and we will cover it under warranty yet even the dealers arent saying the fix will solve the problem permanently. As the summer months approach and most of the US will have the proper weather to trigger the moisture build up in the turbo's we will see if there fix is the right and permanent fix.
