I was just thinking how trivial both our posts were. . Anyway, you missed the sarcasm but acrimony you have a plenty. I've never understood why people on forums have to use ignominy to make their points.

Anyway 5011 plus tax and tag. 2013 stickered for 3265 more than the 2011.

Still seems like a good trade value for a 2 year old truck with 19000 miles. BTY that trade figure is Black book amount.
And they had the trade listed for 40995. Was gone within a week. Dont know what they sold it for.
While I may not have traded enough to know the game very well it still seems that the Ecoboost trade held its value very well which was the original point.
Hard to believe, but I'll take your word for it. Must be a regional thing because around here it would never have happened.

My 2011 FX4 screw was MSRP was 43,420 and I paid 33,700 June 2011. June 2012 the local dealer that seemed to have it about at much as I did offered me $29.5K for an outright buy (no more Fords ) The dealer I bought the truck from offered me $30, 750 and I tossed him the keys. They put it on the lot for $34,750 and it sold pretty fast .. it still looked like new, no blemishes of any kind, 13.6K miles, brand new tires because chronic alignment problems wore the original ones out. If the new owner ever gets an Oasis he'll soil himself lol
I should have taken it to your dealer and I might have made money on it

So you sold your truck after a years use, for $3,000 less than you paid new? That's pretty darn good. And then the dealer sold your used truck for more than you paid for it new?

+1
Supports my thoughts about holding their value in spite of some problems.

Kinda, sorta ..
When I bought the truck I had $4750 in Ford rebates. Not sure what he sold it for, only what it was listed for on their website.

I would say that a problem that can't be fixed would be concerning and I seemed to have had 2 with my F 150 .. the shudder/miss and the alignment. I had it aligned twice in the 13K miles I drove it and it still wore out a set of tires unevenly at 13K miles. I have to admit that after they pulled and repaired my tranny and replaced my steering rack I didn't have anymore problems from those things

I was a die hard Ford guy all my life and I'm pretty old and owned a bunch of them. But when you buy a $43K truck with problems and the Manf customer service guy basically tells you to pizz off it tends to leave a bad taste in your mouth. If or when my Ram gives me problems that can't be fixed I'll give a Tundra a try
At least Ford repaired it, good luck with that with Chrysler. Oh and its Chrysler who makes the repair decisions not the service department, this is so they can bandaid it back together as cheaply as possible vs fixing it properly.

Yes I'm a 2010 Ram 1500 4x4 Hemi owner. Babied, never off road, all maint dealer. The vaunted Hemi puked its camshaft, 2 valves and lifters at 27k miles. Defective camshaft, lobes delaminated.

All the metal missing from the cam and valves disappeared into the engine. Engine was run in this condition for about 150 miles after the engine light came on. I took it in right away, Chrysler said it was carbon build up, blamed me for buying bad gas. Ran some carbon cleaner through it, cleared the engine light, and sent me back out on the road.

About 40 miles later engine light came back on during a 100 mile trip. Chrysler said run it, drop it off after they will run more carbon cleaner through it.

Service dept manager and I agreed a new crate engine should be installed, or at a minimum complete tare down to clean and inspect which would have cost more. Chrysler said no, slapped new parts on, changed the oil, called it good. Chrysler also refused to extend my warranty. What...a...surprise.

I feel your pain! I had an '06 cummins and had a fuel pressure sensor go out at 29000 miles. Now this little thing is just a fitting with a diaphram in it and three wires comming out the top that run to the computer to tell it what kinda fuel pressure ya got. Basically no moving parts and like the oil pressure sender on my hot rod ($8.00) So, they replace it and tell me the warrenty won't cover it cuz I have a fuel milage chip on my truck, not a power adder, just a mileage enhancer. They charge me $632 for the part and another $150 to install it! I can see it when I lift the hood and you just unplug the wires, put a socket on it and out it comes then thread the new one in and you're done. Two or three minute job at most. This was my second Dodge diesel with troubles, and I've now instructed all my friends to kick me square in the ***** if I ever even mention buying another Chrysler product!

I just had the 12-10-19 TSB done and everything seems good. Shifting is more smooth than before and power seems the same. I couldn't get it to shutter at 55-60 anymore, but time will tell about the limp mode issue.
