By the way, if you have a documented issue with your truck that is unresolved by the end of your warranty, they are still required to fix it

Not at all, thats why I said I'll let them hopefully do the next fix and if it doesn't work, I will take it in a fourth time before the end of the year for LL If they don't actually release the fix, its still going back in.

After this much time, getting close to a year I think, I really don't think Ford is any closer to solving the problem than they were when the problem surfaced. And I don't think they really care that much anymore. What I would like to see is a class action suit where they had to pay everyone that ever had the problem. I think all these "fixes" are is a time buyer for Ford.
I think it's great that you all have worked so hard trying to figure out a cause for the problem, collecting data and documenting patterns, hoping to come up with some answers. On the other hand I think it's absolutely pathetic that you've had to. It is Ford's problem not yours and they haven't taken responsibility.
My Ford is gone but I don't think I'll ever get the bad taste out of my mouth.

And I feel really stupid! I Lemon lawed my 2011 and got a 2012 in return. No shudder for the first 700 miles and then it started. Plus the steering wheel has a shimmy to it when I am at highway speeds. Taking it it next week for the IC sheild and reflash. What a joke.

Well if it takes six months for LL to happen, that's going to be a problem. I ordered a new vehicle due in the end of October because I don't trust this truck and its mileage went to crap so its too expensive to drive. I had hoped to use the proceeds from the LL to fund the new vehicle when it arrives and thought and thought 2 1/2 months would be long enough. Guess I better have a back up plan, huh?
As far as the whole gas sensitivity thing, since I lost 4-5mpg warm weather, 5-6mpg cold, I have used every gasoline in a 5 state area and I have NEVER gotten gas that will cure shudder or falling on its face. And, gas-gas as opposed to ethanol blend did not have any impact on my loss of mileage either. At least one form of shudder [I still think there are several] and falling on its face are absolutely related to temperature and humidity.
As I said in a previous post, not having problems during a couple of Kansas heat showers made me think my truck had improved until we went to Colorado where it was "both cool and damp". Almost died . . .
Whether crappy mileage, shudder, rough idle, or falling on its face, I do not understand what it is that makes certain people feel the need to jump into these threads and explain to us why we are all whining morons that don't know how to drive or are now just running crappy gas.
There's certainly nothing wrong with Ford . . . yeah right, I'll keep that in mind as my $40K truck continues to collect dust in the garage while my LL case progresses. No, there's nothing wrong with Ford.

When he found out it was a lemon buyback he slipped up with an louder than should have been.... "ANOTHER ONE?"
Yep, I'm sure Ford is buying these trucks back because of bad fuel... not.
Well that closes out my only Ford purchase ever. Just have to get rid of the accessories now.

Oh man I feel sorry for you! Screw an IC shield and reflash, I'd be on the horn to Ford telling them to take that POS off your hands too and give you a 5.0 or your money back. I'm really sorry to hear about your misfortune but it makes me feel better about just taking the $3K loss on mine, near $6K counting sales tax, and dumping it instead of the lemon law. Plus it was instant pain relief. I didn't bother taking accessories off of it, they all went with the truck. Maybe it will ease the new owners pain. If he ever does an oasis report on it he'll soil his pants for sure.

Sorry to hear Bucknut, but this is added proof that it is a flaw in the design, and will impact anyone that does your type of driving in your climate. I imagine in the next 3-4 months, there will be many more guys with the 2012's that will start seeing this behavior unless Ford does release a fix in Sept.

For those that have had Ford extend the warranty. What did it take to get that done.? I have 19000 miles now and not confident about the fix yet. Don't want to be replacing cats on my dime.

Holy Crap!
I am glad you told me about this site so I could do some research. At this point I am wondering if I should even continue looking for a F150 at all. With Ford's attitude about this problem what is to say if a problem comes up in the 5.0 they will not deny the problem also. And to think the dealers claim sales are so good on the Eco they are only offering a small rebate on trucks with these engines vs. the ones with a 5.0. I guess Ford will need the money for all the buy backs and losses from the lemon law vehicles!
If and when I go back to a Ford dealer and they try to push one of these Eco's onto me and try to act surprised I will bring this post up. This many owners cannot be wrong. I don't really like supporting a foreign manufacturer but that Tundra is looking better all the time.

Wouldn't the cats be covered under emissions. If so Ford would be in bed for 100,000 miles
