Dear Ford,
I bought a new 2011 F-150, SuperCrew, 4X4, lariat, 3.5L Ecoboost.
VIN. # 1FTFW1ET9BFC82950
Plant Built: Dearborn
Make Date: 9/11
I’m having a Rough Idle / Shake in gear and a Shudder issue at take off from a stop.
This is a Safety Problem, the truck feels like it wants to shut off.
I had the truck in several times for this repair, the problem is still there.
I have Marilyn from Ford Customer Service working with me.
My Case # 1372571502
I had the truck in the shop on 12/12/12, Customer # 72462
Echelon Ford
Stratford, New Jersey. 08084
856-627-8400
Parts needed to be ordered: As Per. TSB 12–10–19
Brought truck back for repair, they installed the TSB 12-10-19
The truck still did the same thing; Rough Idle / Shake in Gear and Shudder at take off
From a stop.
Called Echelon Ford Dealer on Monday 01/07/13 @ 8:45am for service, appointment was made to drop off same day at 3-3:30pm.
After waiting 40-45 minutes. in service, for the foreman John.
Walt the Service Manager came out to test drive my truck, needless to say we never got to test drive the truck.
Walt asked me what the truck is doing. I said the same thing as last year, just change the date on the work order. Walt went off on me and spoke down to belittle me. he said all ford trucks idle that way. I had ford trucks and cars my whole life I never had these problems before with any of my ford vehicles.
I spent Good Money $52,000 for this Truck!
After getting verbally beat-up he said there is nothing he can do for me, He sent me home with no fix and no paper work to even say I was there for service.
I left work early to make this Ford truck appointment, spent over 3 ½ Hours and got nothing done. At this time I felt so SICK and UPSET with your Ford Service Manager Walt.
He had the wrong approach to handle my Truck Problems with Me. The last thing you want to here is: THAT IS HOW THE TRUCK IS!!...
If I did that at my work! They would let me go. I would be OUTSIDE LOOKING IN!..
It’s time to fine a new FORD DEALER.

THANK YOU for YOUR TIME.
I AM ONE VERY UNHAPPY FORD CUSTOMER!

Yes a 2013 with 2100 miles. Vibration at 53-55 mph. I can feel it in the floor. Goes away at 56 mph. Nothing real bad, but noticeable.

I just got a new 2013 F150.......Regular Cab......

Stock 17 inch tires, and steel wheels (XL).

SMOOTHEST RIDE I EVER SEEN.

I swear, the bigger tires and alloy wheels caused this on my last F150, so bad I had to get rid of it. (same thing, align force balance, etc etc).

i had the 18 inch Michelin tires and the 18 inch alloy's. just NOT a combination with the F150 REGULAR CAB.

However, i drove a 2013 Supercab STX with the same Michelin Tires and Alloy Wheels. and that bed did a little dance at 55!!!!

My XL has no shakes at all, and especially NOT at 55. HAD to be in the ties.

Everyone is providing stats of their truck in these threads, but no one is listing tires and wheel sizes!

Took about a 70 mile joy ride today. Combination of city and highway driving. city driving was excellent for the vibration test because its hard to get above 55 in 6th gear on this road.

stayed in 6th gear at 55mph for about 5 miles, a few hills... Didn't notice the bed hobble one bit. My leg's not shaking. My arm on the rest is not shaking.. this is a 2013 Regular Cab with the V8 5.0 with hanook 17 inch tires and just plain steel wheels.

Previously i had a 2012 Regular Cab with the 3.7 V6, with the Alloy wheels and the 18 inch Michelin tires.

basically, its the SAME TRUCK with different wheels and tires and different engine. ITS A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE.

Also, the v8 doesn't shift into 6th gear by the time it reaches 40mph.

This is the best trade I ever made, and i'm so glad I have no more shakes or vibrations.

2012
3.5 Ecoboost
145 SuperCrew
4x4 Offroad package
XLT
Dearborn, MI
05/2012
18 inch tires- all terrain stock

Steering wheel and pedals vibrate at all speeds, whole truck shakes from 55 to 65 mph, then does smooth out somewhat.

Taking it in next week to start the process. So far, the worse purchase I have made as I hate driving this thing.
