Default 2010 XL Scab - Weird part found under rear bench

New owner of a 2010 F150 XL Scab that used to be a fleet vehicle for an engineering/oil field company. (Very barebones package) Just got it today from a small dealer that buys at auctions.

Under the rear bench, I found this blue box attached to a harness and piped into the rear corner. I know it is aftermarket since whatever yahoo installed it, zip tied the wiring harness to the Jack (LOL).

Anyone know what it is?

The box has a sticker on it with "E13" in a circle followed by IOR-02-3188

On part of the wiring there is a label that says "Part number 80-0350-TR-TR"

The fun will be tracing the wiring to see where where it's going.

This is fun.... there are 4 distinct wire pairs, so I'm guessing they either have something to do with the wheels, or the speakers.
Can you pop the blue box open? If we see the circuit we would crack this puzzle in no time.

Do you have flashers in your corner marker lights/tails? That box is tied into a ford relay

Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

I'll get under it tomorrow and try and trace where some of the wires go.
The set of wires connecting on the left appear to be power, the ones on the right are individuals and of heavy gauge. They once had labels on them that have rotted off.

Makes sense it might be a GPS with maybe a kill switch added since it was a fleet vehicle. Also noticed a small silver bump above the cargo bed lamp on the roof that I've never seen before. I'll see if it's wired to it (if I can).
About 6 years ago I used to install GPS with kill switches on commercial fleets, but we always did it under the dash to be close to the principle wires.

I don't have any special switch for flashers, or any weird lamps, so don't think it's that.

I'll also see if I can unscrew it from the bed and see what the bottom says, and if nothing there, try and open it to see inside.

Maybe stupid suggestion but maybe you can contact the auction house where dealer bought the truck from and find the name of the engineering/ oil field company that previously owned and then sold the truck...if so, you could call and ask somewhere who works there ( probably I would ask to speak to a field supervisor ) who I bet could answer your question about exactly what that blue box was for.

Actually while digging around behind the glove box, found some papers listing the old company it belonged to (company based in Maryland but was servicing oilfields in east Texas and West Louisiana).

Going to try and contact someone there this week. But if the company is as big as it seems, might be hard getting an answer (but I will persevere).

With the roof mounted antenna and the box, I'm guessing GPS.

Yep, thinks it's a GPS system with some ignition cutoff abilities or something (too many wires for just plain GPS).

I unbolted it from the floor. All that's on the bottom is a bar code sticker with the number 20070142834. Not UPC and Google doesn't match anything close, so probably internal tracker for the unit number.

The roof top antenna thing (pictured below) says "Laird Technologies" on it. Laird's website shows they do fleet tracking systems. I'll email them with details for more info.

I unplugged all the wires from the unit and the truck still runs, locks with the DoB, etc, so it doesn't have a starter disabled if disconnected, so that's good. Leaving the box in the truck, disconnected, just in case.
