Default 2010 Vermillion Red STX...mods done(maybe), pics

Thought i'd show off my 2010 STX after I finally finished the mods I wanted to do.

The only thing I might still do is, swap the "STX" decal out for an all black one. At a distance, you kind of lose the red "X" against the red truck.

Some "before" pics.

Added an aux reverse light system. Its called "The White Knight" system. Its kind of expensive...if you can spend the $$ its worth it. Had to get the relocating plate, and the 7 pin adapter, too.

I then added auto headlights...I had an '04 lariat previously, and missed a lot of the bells and whistles. This was plug and play

I then added, power, heated side mirrors with blinkers. Also plug and play.

But to get the heated mirrors to work, I had to swap out the climate control, for one with the mirror defrost button

Upon doing this...it got my exterior temperature to work. I had installed the sensor a long time ago, but couldn't get it to work until I did the climate control swap

I then slapped some Harley heads and tails in...boom done.

Truck looks good my friend where did you find the heated side mirrors / the new climate control system? Where they expensive? How hard was it to swap out the climate control to the one with the heated mirror switch? My truck doesn't have heated mirrors but my old car did and I really missed them this winter.

Thanks man!

I actually did a write up on the mirrors and climate control not too long ago. I'd link it, but I'm on my phone, and cant for some reason. I found the mirrors on this site actually, from another member. Look in the 2009+ parts sales threads. Tons of people are upgrading to tow mirrors...so they're looking to sell their stock ones. The climate control I got off of ebay...ya gotta watch it though, there are tons of ones without the heated switch.

Other than that it was very easy...once I get home tonite and on a computer I'll link the thread.

Not on the install, but that was just as easy. You just need to order the sensor. Then you'll need a climate control, that came out of a truck that had ext temp. Its a pretty good chance that the climate control with the heated mirror/rear defrost switch will have ext temp.

All this plug-n-play goodness has me curious.
Can one install a dual-zone climate control panel in place of the single zone control panel and have magic happen?
I suppose this is carrying the theme too far but one can dream.

That was all I did, yes. I have a 2010 though. I've been hearing on here a lot that the 2011's dont have as much "plug'n'play" ability...if that makes sense.

We had a 2011 xlt at my work with no auto headights...so it just had that plug on the dash up by the windsheild. Under the plug there was no wiring harness for the sensor...where my truck (a 2010) did have one.
