Just checked with my local dealer and they insist I need to have the master cylinder done too for it to work even though I have the tow package (standard, not max). Anyone else get this crap?

That's for the old systems, not sure what model years it applies to BUT it does not apply to '09-'10.

If you have the 7pin and 4pin harness beside your hitch receiver, you shouldn't need anything else but the correct TBC and dealer programming.

Thanks, that's what I thought. Idiot dealers as usual!

My controller came in today, it took about 20 minutes to install it. The hardest part was getting the bottom of the trim piece back on. Now to go see my best bud at the ford dealer and have him turn it on. Thanks for the great write up

Nutty... my dealer near work told me the same thing, told him he was wrong, and i'll bring my truck in so he can see it next week.

I installed mine and was $177. I did not get it programmed yet. I installed the fuses and did not disconnect the battery since I didn't think there's a need. Does the instrument cluster display show it there at all? I ask as I've heard others have shown an error and mine acts like I never put it in.

Pretty sure its just needing programmed but wanted to verify with the others who've installed it...

Mine didn't show on the display until I had it programmed.
