Yes, there is a plastic sheet between the door panel and the door.
A vapor barrier does not prevent condensation, it would just give it a place to accumulate. To prevent condensation, it would have to be insulated.
The speaker connection in my door had water in it, causing the speaker to work sporadically. It was able to hold the water because of the way it was positioned. I have to assume that the only source for the water is rain coming into the door at the bottom of the window.
I repositioned the speaker connection, and taped it up as well.

Is there a TSB for this yet or just a part number and service manager to deal with?

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the same problem...

2010 SCREW Sony Premium with Sync and amp under rear passenger seat. My rear speakers do not seem to be putting out (STS) loud enough sound. I have to crank up the volume and it becomes too loud in the front. I have verified the fade and even with it set to full rear, the level seems really low. Does anyone have any ideas? It is still under factory warranty, but would like to go to the dealer with trend information versus a generic problem. Also, there is a TSB for the SYNC system that it also meets. Not sure if they are related.

Thanks in advance!

It's been a few months since the harness problem was reported....To those who have had this harness replaced has the problem with the speaker been fixed over the long term?

I had this issue.

Dropped off the truck, they confirmed it, ordered me the driver door speaker harness. Picked it up and it was fixed however now the passenger side was cutting out. back to dealer and fixed 2 days later.

The service manager said that Ford knows that this is an issue. They cannot replace the harness unless you complain about the speaker not working. So when you drop yours off tell them both sides have an issue.

Live and learn.

Default difference in harness ??

I have been noticing my drivers side speaker cutting in and out and finally today confirmed that it was happening (instead of just going crazy )
I mean I noticed it on both sides.
For those that have had the harness replaced did you see any difference between the old and the new?
Or is the new one just not full of corrosion yet and they are just making the problem go away for a few more months?

I just did a speaker upgrade on mine. I went with two pair of Kicker DS68's and am quite pleased. I paid like $90 for the two pair shipped. I am pleased with the change in sound.

As long as you reported it before the warranty was up and they looked at it you should be covered when it fails again. I think.
