Default 2010 - Rust Issue

Hello All,

This question would be mostly aimed at Ford customer service, but feel free to tell me if you have a similar situation.

Problem is at the lower rear corner on both sides of the cab behind the rear doors (this is a screw), I have noticed fairly large rust bubbles forming. The truck is a 2010 F-150 Lariat supercrew with only 90000km's on it. I have read the warranty information on the body, and it only covers if there is a hole in the body itself.

Couple questions, has anyone out there seen this on their trucks? and is there anything that Ford will do to stand behind their trucks on this issue. Either way it needs to be fixed, but I was hoping that Ford might step up to the plate on this.

Thanks in advance.

Jeremy

Pics would help, but my truck is pretty rust free. Where are you located?

I am in Ontario, Canada. Winters are harsh here with the road salt, but I still think this is a little premature for the rust.

I will get some pictures posted.

I have personally painted 3 trucks with your exact description. All under the 3/36k warranty. Unfortunately you are out of that with a 2010.

I'm in MN. So I can't speak for how Ford Canada works

My estimate would be pure speculation. As I don't know the extent of your issue. And also being in Canada, your prices will be considerably higher. Also, the 3 i did were under Ford warranty, at 4 hours a piece. Ford writes repairs differently than a customer/insurance job. By that I mean something that should be 6 hours labor, to ford that means 2 hours.

I understand how this would be frustrating, Jeremy1979. I encourage you to continue working with your dealer as they're in the best position to assist. Also, feel free to visit other dealers, should you need a second opinion. In fact dealerships are owned and operated independently. To locate one, click on this: http://www.ford.ca/dealerships/locate/ For questions and concerns within my scope, please reach out to me.

My 2010 stx has paint bubbles on the front bumper which means it's rusting under the paint. But that's the only spot showing signs of rusting.
