Default 2010 Platinum...Serious Drivetrain Problem

Was just another normal day....got in my truck after work and about halfway home, the transmission started acting weird, it's like it dropped in low gear on it's own when coasting, then when I touched the gas, some serious drivetrain clunk would happen. This just kept happening over and over. I only have 20k kilometers, never driven hard.

I started detouring to my dealer and barely made it there, the transmission was in low gear (even though I was in Drive), would not pass 2000 rpm and there was essentially zero power, and a major burning smell in the cab....not electrical burning though, mechanical burning. The wrench icon was flashing on the dash....I was thinking no chit Sherlock!!!!

I couldn't even make it to a parking stall, stopped right in front of the service door! Got out, but didn't see any fluids leaking.

So, with my extended warranty, I am entitled to a 100% free rental....so they gave me a new loaded Ford Escape (w/Nav) for however long it takes.

Anybody else heard of this before? It was right out of the blue....no issues prior. I'm anxious to see what Ford says tomorrow. I assume they will look at it right away since they are paying the Budget rental vehicle.

Updates to follow when I find out more.

From reading other threads about this, it sounds like 11 and newer transmissions are having these issues with the pump. Obviously, with mine being a 2010, it's the 5.4l engine and I barely tow anything....if I do, it's only about two thousand pounds. (My RZR).

I think these trannies are suffering more from poor software than anything else.

I wonder if Microsoft writes it for them.

After seeing the disaster that is windows 8, it would explain a lot

I just spoke to the dealer, they are pulling the transmission right now and hopefully, by the end of the day, they will know what the problem is. I'm hoping the tranny is fubarred and a brand new one goes back in.

Yes. You can download the beta/customer preview now. Release is later this year.

The user interface, called Metro, is entirely different. It's modeled after the Windows Phone interface.

It is Horrible.

There isn't even a start menu anymore.

Change can be good, but this is pathetic.

The same reason I didn't upgrade; Windows 95 still works great, for me!

Although, I must admit, my Intel 386 processor slows down when I run some of the newer games like Pac-Man; I guess I should have gone to the 486 processor, when I still had the chance?

No, I have AOL dial-up; however, you just reminded me, I do have one of those Walmart-Connect CD's, unopened, still in its original wrapper, somewhere here in my desk.
