2010 Plaitnum - HID and LED Problems ( BIGTIME )
#11
It's a problem.
Every single vehicle i have ever witnessed(including new F150's) with HID's in reflector designed housings had a problem.
They are not designed for HID bulbs. HID is WAY too different than halogen for them to work.

I had the same issue. I got mine from ddm tunning. The first time I installed them I used a relay harness. They told me I didn't need the harness. They replaced the ballasts. I installed the new ballasts without the relay and have the same problem again. When I used the relay it melted the fuse. I also have aftermarket headlights that use a standard bulb for the high beams. I'm thinking that's where my issue is.

Got the truck back and everything is fine now, they installed relays and resistors and replaced balasts and bulbs. I think they've learned they're lesson now.

Opinions are A@%holes, everybody has one. I've had nothing but compliments including the dealership I bring it to. Also, can see much better and am not blinding anyone! I was in back of a cop the other night for three miles and he didn't pull me over and where I'm from your pulled over for everything. The HID's are the 6000's so theres only a hint of blue so they basically look like a Cadillac Escalade going down the road.

pull up to a flat 1 color wall.
within 2-5 feet.. look for scattering light above the height of your lights on the truck.. any.. you will have it.. that there is what is blinding people..
If your lights are pointed at the ground they are giving you no distance then..
so whats the sense then?
