Default 2010 iphone/USB Problem.....

I thought I would let everyone know of an easy fix for my USB port. It stopped working and when I took it to the dealership I found out that it was because of my iphone. To fix it you just disconnect the battery for a minute to reset it. You then have to download the latest firmware and install it. Thats it. My USB started working again. Just thought I would let everyone know........

You mean you disconnected the battery from the phone, or the truck?

Might sound a little stupid here, but how do I download the firmware?

You have to go to the sync website and download it to a thumb drive then take the thumb drive out to the truck and install it. I did it and it was pretty painless.

Do you mean you actually downloaded your music to your truck? I wonder if mine will do that?

My Iphone and sync work pretty well together the only that kinda bugs me is when I get in my truck it automatically starts playing my ipod on my phone and if I don't remember to stop it then it uses more battery for no reason.

Does the external drive need to be free of all other files? I downloaded the file last night, put it on my flash drive, plugged it into my sync usb and it said it could not find any media files. Not sure what else I am supposed to do since the website made it seem like its a plug and play.
