2010 or Eccoboost?

Lol that was a nice clip, maybe someday. So am I crazy for wanting an F150 when I have nothing to haul or pull around? Maybe an occasional trip to HD. I just love these trucks!

I think you have to ask your self what you need right now. If you don't need anything and just want a new toy then gas would not be an issue. I would say make a list of pros and cons and then make a decision based on that. I love my 09, but I am the guy that would not get the truck unless it had the tow package on it.
I do think that I would wait until at least 2012-13 (assuming a 2011 release) before I would even think about picking up an ecoboost truck. It is a new engine for them and there will be problems.

Actually that is where I am right now, I just want a new toy. But just didn't want to buy in, and then this great engine comes along six months later. But I guess I didn't think about it like that, there will be problems with new technology. I guess when it comes down to it, the extra gas money wont be that huge of an issue.

If I keep my foot out of it I can get 25mpg on the hwy. Realistically I get 16mpg mixed driving. That is pretty good considering the way I drive. I do have the 4.6L with the 3.31 rear end, to save gas. It is fast and pulls like a champ. Some days I wish I would have picked up the 5.4L, but I don't need it. So I saved a couple of bucks when I purchased the truck.
Good luck on your decision

I had the same delima. Once some of the mileage figures began coming out I figured for the premium price I wouldn't be money ahead in the long run.
I have never been a fan of buying something the first year it is out anyway, even if it has been used in another vehicle previously.

I thought about this very same thing. I waited and waited. Finally, I decided to purchase now. The 5.4 has evolved into an excellent engine. Where as the Ecoboost is an unknown. I don't know when it's coming, I don't know how reliable it will be, I don't know if it will perform as advertised (most direct injection turbo engines DO NOT provide the advertised economy BTW) and I don't know how much more the dealerships are going to gouge me for the "special" twin turbo engine.
With this in mind, I would also like to wait a couple of years so Ford can work the bugs out. It's truly rare that a first year product is 100% reliable.
The current truck gives me a really nice new truck for the next couple of years while I wait for the Ecoboost.

I think that 4.6 would run circles around my 5.4. I have driven both and the 4.6 is champ with 3.55s. Most of my driving is in the city so lower gears will help my mileage.
