Geez man, I'm just making an observation about my truck! lol, I'm totally aware its going to make different noises, its just this one seemed odd. But I yet again went back to the dealership and test drove a new FX4, and a Raptor, both made the same noise, so I'll take it as normal! lol, if something actually breaks, its got warranty

Aw sorry man! I didn't really mean to snap back either!

It sounds like you've confirmed that the noise you're hearing is from the VVT/cam sensor, and not merely injector noise. Just an FYI--I bought an '09 with the 4.6-3V motor and it also started knocking after warm-up at low RPMs (idle to just about 1500 RPM) with only 500 miles on the clock. I took it to my dealer and they confirmed it WASN'T normal noise for the engine, and replaced the right side cam sensor and VVT parts under warranty.

Not saying that yours is broken and should be fixed, but you might want to get a second opinion on your motor....

Yeah I'm kinda at a loss really. Every dealership I've taken it in to says its "normal". I've watched countless videos of guys with bad cam phasers, and that sound seems to have a much lower tone than mine. (Mine sounds more like a higher tone "clacking" or "Rattle") Also mine wont make the sound at idle, only in gear, approximately 600-1000 RPM (like putting around a parking lot).

Sounds like the same noise mine is making. I have a video here of mine doing it Hot at 1200 rpm. Best heard around 6-13 seconds into the video. Dealership says its normal. I'm paranoid lol. Sound like yours?

watch this and just keep this thought in the back of your mind...

the guy in the vid said it took him a few days to do and that the part was only $100.

now i can understand that it took him a weekend cause he's not a ford mechanic nor did he have the right tools in the first place...

so, i wonder why (in canadian dollars) the average f150 owner has been claiming that it's a 2500 buck fix when taken to the dealership.

here's the vid...

I have had a similar sound.. I think. My sound occurs around 40-60 km and low rpm, kind of a rattle sound. Only seems to happen in the winter for me. I found this scroll down to the service messages

Hopefully that helps, if it the same problem.... Still pisses me off that this noise can be declared normal.
