2010 4.6 3v knocking help
My truck is knocking like a champ sounds like its coming from the driver side cat. It wasnt too bad earlier today but after driving around its getting worse. IM leaving tomorrow to drive it back home to tx a little over 2000 miles I tried to take it to dealers here earlier but ofcourse everythings closed for the weekend. Whats the worst that could happen? The truck is driving fine no lights on or anything just dont want to stay here until monday then be stuck here in Ny all week. Thanks. Truck has almost 25k miles. Oil always changed way before required. Its almost like a metallic rattle but its steady

Im hoping it blows up My dealer has a really nice used King Ranch I would scoop up lol. This isnt just some small normal ticking or pinging people complain about its loud and doesnt sound healthy at all. We though it was coming from engine put it up on the ramps and listened sounded like it was coming from tranny/flywheel area so pulled off the inspection cover and everything looked fine . Then started listening closely under there and really sounds like its coming from the cat. I have no choice but to drive it back Only have so much leave. I just dont want to be sitting on the side of the road.

It died. Didn't make it 60 miles started shuttering and sputtering engine light strobing away now I'm stuck in tiny hotel until roadside can tow it to ford tomorrow . Assuming the cats internals disloged and clogged up has no power at all won't go over 30 shaking like a massage chair. Anybody want to bring me a pizza? I'm near erie pa lol.

Your truck may or may not qualify for this but there is a TSB 10-18-4 "Low Frequency Engine Knocking Noise At Hot Idle" for 2009-'10 F150's with 4.6 3v and 5.4 3v engines.

The cat was clogged. We got towed to Championship Ford in Erie PA this morning . We rented a car and have been cruising around here today they said they would have it put together by 5pm tomorrow. Is it possible for me to try to get roadside assistance or someone to pay for these hotels? I didnt break it by choice and def did not want to be stuck here in PA.

Well they got us fixed and back on the road tuesday but now I cant get more than 16.5 mpg even babying it on the highway somethings not right . It runs and drives just fine though so idk.
