Default 2009 XLT 2WD turn singal lights and puddle lights question????

Sorry in advance, I am new to the site and wanted to get some feedback from truck lovers and not the dealership where i just came from.

I bought my f150 two weeks ago, I liked the XLT model because i thought I can just upgrade stuff with time as I pleased, but maybe I was dead wrong...

I wanted to put the turn signals on the mirrors and the puddle lights i think its called, since it has the covers for the lights on the mirrors i figured all I had to do was order the parts and maybe a harness if it wasnt already in the truck. BUT the dealer just told me that (1) i would have to buy the whole mirror, and (2) that they THINK that my XLT is not outfitted to have those lights even if I buy the mirrors ? but they werent 100% sure because I have to pay $120 for a tech to "look" at my truck and figure out whats going on...

Any advise, tips, referrals, etc?...again, this is my first pickup truck and loving it so far, except for the disappointment today... (plus gas of course LOL)

>>In the future Im planning on getting bigger rims/tires without lifting my truck (maybe leveling would do the trick)...getting the front brush guard and towing hooks, fender flares, tow hitch, window vizors, serius radio (if is possible, i have the Sat button on the stock radio), K&N intake and flow master dual pipes!"...estimated cost? TBD!!!

There may be no wires in the mirror but I'd suggest pulling off door panels and check for such wires first. Then you can just run wires to the points in the mirrors. I put in puddle lamps and the wiring was in the doors but not in the mirror so had to run my own.

Mostly a DYI modification if you want from what I have read.

Reflectors to signals

Puddle lights were covered here

Yep, links above give you part numbers for both puddle light part numbers as well as reflectors.

Someone has posted these on these forums. You'll have to search, but you can get them. I think they're around $15 a side or so.

You should send Josh @ Tasca an email. He'll hook you up cheaper than your dealer even after delivery. Just give him the part #s you are after
