I have noticed a much greater influx of new members over the past few months as compared to the normal rate from back when I joined (early 10' I think). I think it really shows something for the success of the 2011 with it's snazzy new engines and such.

Great post op. Humor without actually attacking any one person.

Maybe a version of this can be a sticky. I've seen "FAQ -noobs read here" on a couple other forums and they were very helpful.

I think you simplified things too much to make your point. This forum is here to help people even when they ask questions that are simple answers to most of us. Yes they should use the search function and read the manual but there is nothing wrong asking for others opinions. After all that's pretty much what we all do when we research something before we buy it.

Great post as some questions and "let's see those... " threads are getting kind of beat but I'm torn at the same time. We shouldn't forget that some people do lack the knowledge and may find themselves in need of a quick question answered even if it's a repetitive one a quick answer from an educated member would be easier then blasting someone in 20 replies about search buttons etc. A new member FAQ sticky or section would eliminate many new nonsense threads otherwise we can just not dive into a topic we don't care about.

THIS.

Granted if you do a search under my user name, I asked plenty of stupid questions myself. Glad *most* of you could take the joke! Unfortunately it can be pretty difficult to find a quick answer on any forum.

But there will always be stupid questions, we all just need to do our best to give stupid answers on an as needed basis.
