Default 2009 Platinum

Hey guys,

I'm about to buy a 2009 Platinum with 56k miles. Its in great shape inside and out. I really love the Platinum look and features - just wondering how your '09 Platinums are holding up today? Do you think I should just pony up and buy something newer. I could buy a 2011 thats really clean for only a few grand more with about the same miles. For point of reference the 2009 truck i'm looking at is around $25k.

Thanks.

Mick

Bought my 2012 platinum with 54k miles for 27 grand Canadian a year ago next month. Obviously with an 09 or a 12 its hugely based on how well it's been maintained. Where has it spent its life? areas with salted roads? Down south? Heated garage for winter or outside? In freeIng weather?

If you're paying 25 grand American for that It seems a little high. I'd certainly look for more value for 25k American.

As far as the platinum model itself goes, you'll love it!

My $0.02.

Thanks for the feedback - I'm in Seattle and that seems to be the best deal I can find anywhere within a few hundred miles. Nice part is our cities don't salt the roads and we don't have extreme winters or summers so its likely in pretty decent shape.

I'd go for the 2011. The start of plug and play for everything, especially if you plan to add remote start and what not.

Have you searched Vancouver or other Canadian cities? With your American dollar I'm sure you could find something very nice from above the border. Of course there would be extra hassle of broker/import but there's probably a pretty good chance of you finding something nice up there for cheaper. Keep in mind your dollar is worth approx $1.40 Canadian

I really like the 5.4 over the ecoboost not sure about a 5.0. My 2009 crew cab 6.5' box Fx4 has 161,000 miles on it. I've put over 17,000 of those miles on it with no issues.

Love my 09 platinum. All you can do is test drive them! The 5.0 has quite a bit more hp than the 5.4
