Default 2009: Installed Interior LED Bulbs; Now Dome Lights Don't Work

Title says it all. My 2009 Supercrew has two dome lights in the front and one in the rear. There are also two switched map lights in the rear.

I replaced all with LED.

When I open the door or roll the dome light switch to the 'on' position, nothing comes on. Now, when I manually push the map light on in the front, they work. And those are the same bulbs that area supposed to come on when the door opens.

There are obviously two circuits - one for the map lights and one for the interior/dome lights.

I checked the only fuses I could find. Is there a relay tied to this circuit? What am I missing?

Well, I was going to say to flip the bulbs around - LED's are known to work only one way and if they don't work simply fit them, but the maps work if you press the switch manually. There goes that theory.

Update: I put the factory original bulbs back in and the system is working again. So it is something with the LED bulbs. I bought them from Super Bright LEDs. I re-installed the front LEDs and all is good. So I now have the problem narrowed down to the single rear "festoon" style bulb.

I see that super bright LEDS offers the same bulb that I bought but one that is "compatible with a CAN BUS system". What the heck is that? Do our trucks (mine is a 2009) have that system?

Try turning the rear bulb around, the ones in my Mustang only work one way.

When I install the rear bulb - in either direction - the entire system goes dark. Has anyone ever heard of "Can Bus" bulbs? Are those required for this system?

A quick link/read for the CANBUS question: https://www.superbrightleds.com/blog...led-bulbs/293/

While I didnt have your issue... my remote start refused to work properly when I switched to LED map lights (I'm guessing current draw?!?) but when switched to CAN BUS LEDs... worked perfectly.
Best I can offer... and it isnt much, try one in the location you are having issues.

Alright that is what I needed to hear. I think i'm going to roll the dice and order a $7 CANBUS bulb for the rear to see what happens. I'll post back up here in a week or so once the bulb comes in. Thanks.

Odd that you say that. I had a hard time getting the bulbs into the socket so I had to kinda spread the socket apart to get it to work...odd.
